Great debut last night for Derell Olpherts in Salford’s game away to Widnes last night. Not the result he was looking for but he had a great game and was in the voting for the man of the match which is testament to how hard he has worked off the pitch and then on it yesterday. Well done Derell on the first of many super league performances to come

Delighted for PFSM’s Chris Atkin on his call up to the England Knights squad. Extremely talented and incredibly hard working, I know chris will stay focused and strive to improve further and he’s got a huge future in the game. Said at the time of him signing for Hull KR that they had got a gem and there are plenty more playing in the championship too. Well done Chris you’ve worked hard for this and the journey is going great so far!

Absolutely massive move for PFSM player Derrell Olpherts. Two year deal at Salford after two years with Newcastle Thunder who have been fantastic with him. Always had the talent and now he's got the break he deserves. Its been a long road to the top including a stint back at grass roots level but Derrell never stopped believing in himself and all his hard work had paid off. I know this man is going to make the most of it and keep on putting in the extra efforts in order to establish himself as a super league player. Congratulations Derrell now finish the season on a high up at Newcastle.

PFSM new recruit and new Huddersfield signing Shannon Wakeman in action for Illawarra Cutters. Shannon was the best prop outside the NRL this season and many over there thought he should have had a crack with the Dragons. He ran a massive 3889 metres from 397 carries in 25 games and made an amazing 1274 of those metres after collision making 80 tackle busts in the process. Shannon doesn't sherk from his defensive duties either and made 718 tackles for the season.
Really looking forward to seeing the Italian international in action next year and helping him kick on with his rugby league career.

Another one of our youngsters going overseas to enhance his career. Good luck to Tom Megretton who came through the Wakefield junior system as he embarks on a journey to France to play under and with Vinnie Anderson. Tom leaves for France early next week and we know he's very excited about this opportunity.
