It was great to welcome Jose from Korman Shipping to Jenkar Shipping during his visit to the UK.

We’ve worked closely with Korman for a number of years, so it was great to finally have the opportunity to catch up in person while Jose was visiting from Shanghai.

Strong partnerships are a huge part of what makes international freight forwarding work, and relationships like this become even more valuable when you get the chance to meet face-to-face.

Last week, Harry from the DataBrain Solutions team attended AI Week 2026, Europe’s largest AI event, where a major focus was how AI is helping businesses automate operational and document-heavy workflows.

For industries like logistics and freight forwarding, that’s especially relevant.

From quote processing and booking confirmations to customs paperwork and document checks, many operational tasks are still highly manual and time-consuming.

Working alongside us as our AI and automation partner, DataBrain is helping explore how these processes can be streamlined through AI and automation. The goal isn’t to replace people, but to reduce repetitive admin and create more capacity for higher-value work.

Middle East tensions are continuing to affect global freight networks, creating volatility across both air and sea freight services.

Air freight capacity is tightening as airspace restrictions reduce available routes. This is increasing the likelihood of cancellations, rerouting and extended transit times.

In sea freight, heightened security concerns near the Strait of Hormuz are contributing to delays, with some carriers introducing conflict-related surcharges.

At Jenkar Shipping, we are actively monitoring developments and working with our carrier network to minimise disruption wherever possible.
