As of Monday 16th August 2021, employees who are double jabbed or under the age of 18 will no longer be required to isolate should they be contacted by NHS Test and Trace for being in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Employees who are double jabbed must have received their second COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before being contacted by NHS Test and Trace. Within this 14 day period, they will still have to isolate.
Under 18s are no longer required to isolate should they be in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Both double jabbed individuals and individuals under the age of 18 are strongly advised to take a PCR test upon being contacted by NHS Track and Trace, as well as take other precautions such as wearing masks in enclosed spaces and limiting contact with others.
The NHS Test and Trace app will now take into consideration an individual’s vaccination status as well as age when contacting them to notify their close contact with a positive person and the steps required to be taken.
