💛 MERRIE CITY FESTIVAL 2026 💜

Sunshine, rain and plenty of wind - Merrie City Festival experienced it all! But whatever the weather brought, the music, entertainment and brilliant atmosphere continued on the Cathedral Precinct.

A huge thank you to every performer who joined us, our fantastic delivery team and partners, and Wakefield’s local businesses for all their support.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who spent any part of the weekend with us. Whether you stopped for one performance or stayed for the day, you helped make the festival so special.

💜 DAY ONE: COMPLETE!

What a first day of Merrie City Festival! Even the rain couldn’t stop Wakefield from getting Merrie.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today - and to all our performers, stallholders and event team for keeping the festival spirit going.

Now it’s time to dry off, recharge and get ready to do it all again!

We’ll be back on the Cathedral Precinct tomorrow for Day Two, with more performances, activities and Merrie City fun waiting for you.
