Receiving lovely cards and messages like this from the people we care for and their families genuinely means more to us than we can put into words. This one has absolutely made our week.

As a family-run care company, we’ve always wanted Phoenix Care to feel like more than just a care provider. We want the people we support and their families to feel that they are part of our Phoenix family too — cared for with kindness, compassion and genuine love.

Knowing that our carers are making such a positive difference makes us incredibly proud. Behind every visit is a team of people who truly care about what they do, and compliments like this remind us exactly why we do it. 🩵

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day
🏠 Keep rooms as cool as possible
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
☀️ Avoid the hottest part of the day where possible
🍓 Choose light, healthy meals
💙 Check in on family, friends and neighbours

🌑✨ A Special Night in the Skies Above Wakefield! ☄️

Tonight, Wednesday 12 August, we’re in for a wonderful evening in the night sky, with a partial solar eclipse followed later by the Perseid meteor shower. 🌠

Here around Wakefield, the eclipse will reach its maximum at approximately 7:09pm.

For our clients, families, carers and wider Wakefield community, it could be a lovely moment to enjoy together — but please put safety first. 💙

⚠️ ECLIPSE SAFETY
☀️ Never look directly at the Sun, even when it is partly covered or behind cloud.
🕶️ Ordinary sunglasses are NOT safe for eclipse viewing.
✅ Only use genuine, undamaged eclipse viewers that meet ISO 12312-2:2015(E), or use a safe indirect viewing method such as a pinhole projector.
🔭 Never look at the Sun through binoculars, telescopes or cameras without the appropriate specialist solar equipment.

If you're supporting someone who may need assistance, please make sure they understand the risks and are appropriately supported if viewing the eclipse.

☄️ Later tonight, keep an eye out for the Perseid meteor shower — a perfect excuse to enjoy a quiet moment under the stars.
