Janine Beynus pointed out that Darwin wrote about being adaptable and fit to survive, not being the 'fitt-est'.

Adam Smith's invisible hand of unfettered markets with zero constraints on capitalism were a minor point of his work. In a lesser known essay of his, The Theory of Moral Sentiments, he states that those who do well in markets are 'led by an invisible hand to make nearly the same distribution of the necessaries of life...[as if] the earth had been divided into equal portions among it's inhabitants'

In 2014, Apple announced new climate change and energy goals. Investors challenged CEO Tim Cook to commit only to climate projects that were clearly profitable. He told them if they didn't believe in climate change, then they should sell their Apple shares (which have gone up by 500% since that meeting.

Peter Drucker once said "Profit for a company is like oxygen for a person. If you don't have enough of it, you are out of the game. But if you think your life is about breathing you're really missing something".
