We haven’t always been known as Barn logs. We started selling seasoned logs and firewood back in 2003 as a by product of our then fledgling tree services business, Willow Tree Services. However, due to the ever increasing popularity of our hardwood logs and firewood, we have been constantly expanding our firewood business since then to ensure we can keep up with the growing number of orders we rec
eive year on year. So in January 2014 we moved to new premises in Wansford between Stamford and Peterborough, which provided us with better facilities to help us take our logs and firewood business forward to become the largest producer and supplier of the best quality hardwood logs in the area. With this new expansion came the addition of our own, brand new log drying kilns. Powered by biomass boilers using only the waste wood from our tree surgery business, our new kilns give us the ability to produce quality kiln dried hardwood logs all year round whist still maintaining our aim of keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum. For several years we have strived to produce better and better quality logs each year and we are now proud to say that our kiln dried logs are the driest and best burning logs we have ever produced. With a moisture content of 20% or less, our kiln dried logs burn very hot and very clean, producing little to no smoke and yielding a very high heat output.
