Product CAD Technician, Surrey, to £30k, V04311. An amazing and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product CAD Technician to join the design and product development team of a highly respected luxury lighting and furniture brand. Our client is synonymous with beautifully crafted, high-end products and supplies some of the world's most prestigious hotels, yachts and residential projects. Product development, casting, decorative finishing, assembly and wiring are all undertaken in-house, alongside a network of highly skilled artisans. This is a 12-month contract role focused on an exciting project to digitally document and standardise their extensive back catalogue of furniture and lighting products. You will use SolidWorks to recreate existing physical products as accurate 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring their designs are properly documented and ready for manufacturing, specification and internal use. The role could be particularly well suited to a recent Product Design graduate looking to develop their CAD and technical skills within a luxury design environment.

The role will be to: Create accurate 3D models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks; Produce detailed manufacturing, assembly, component and exploded-view drawings; Review and update existing drawings to ensure consistency and accuracy; Maintain organised drawing files, revisions and product information; Use Excel to manage drawing registers and documentation; Ensure technical drawings meet internal standards and are suitable for manufacture and supplier communication.

The Product CAD Technician will need to be proficient in SolidWorks and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and be comfortable working collaboratively with both design and technical teams. Experience producing detailed technical and assembly drawings (ideally including GAs and exploded views) will be needed as well as a good understanding of manufacturing processes for furniture, lighting or similar physical products. You’ll need to be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and possess good communication skills.

Our client is a highly regarded specialist in luxury bespoke joinery and furniture, creating beautifully crafted interiors for prestigious designers, high-profile clients and discerning homeowners worldwide. Combining traditional English carpentry techniques with modern manufacturing methods, they create exceptional bespoke pieces where craftsmanship, functionality and contemporary design come together. They are now looking for a Senior Technical Designer to take approved design concepts through to fully detailed technical drawings and production information for manufacture and installation. Working closely with senior management, clients, production teams and installers, you will act as the key link between sales, design, production and installation, ensuring projects are technically accurate, commercially viable and delivered to the highest standards.

You’ll have excellent technical drawing skills and be proficient in AutoCAD and in programming CNC machinery, with knowledge of CNC tooling, nesting and machining strategies. You’ll need strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively as well as being organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple projects.

Design Engineer - Bespoke Metalwork, Hampshire, to £45k, V04304. Our client is a specialist metal fabrication workshop creating exceptional bespoke pieces for the residential, commercial and marine sectors. From custom furniture and sculptural lighting to architectural metalwork and intricate fabrications, they combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative engineering. Working closely with Estimating, Production, Procurement and Project teams, you'll take projects from concept through to manufacture, producing high-quality technical designs that meet both client expectations and manufacturing requirements.

With 5+ years' experience as a Design Engineer, Product or CAD Designer, you’ll have strong CAD skills using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar. A solid understanding of manufacturing processes and technical drawing standards will be needed as well as experience interpreting architectural drawings. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills will also be required plus the ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across departments.

Salary is £40,000 to £45,000 DOE plus 31 days' holiday (incl. Design Manager Designate, London, to £55k, V04301. Our client is a design-led contract furniture manufacturer, renowned for producing high-quality furniture for the workplace, education and commercial sectors. Due to the planned retirement of their Head of Design in 2028, they are seeking an ambitious Designer with the potential to progress into the Design Manager role. This is a rare opportunity to join an established business with a clear succession plan and structured career progression. Your development will follow a structured 2-year pathway (subject to performance). For the first 6 months you’ll be learning the Designer role and integrating into the business. The following 12 months you’ll be working closely with and shadowing the current Head of Design. For the final 6 months you’ll step into the Acting Design Manager’s role with ongoing support before taking full responsibility.

Responsibilities will include: Producing detailed production drawings; Creating accurate Works Order documentation using Excel; Preparing client approval drawings; Space planning and 3D visualisations; Processing client orders through to manufacture; Working accurately to tight deadlines.

With experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings you’ll have software experience with packages like AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, 3DS Max and KeyShot. You’ll be organised, accurate and deadline driven with strong technical and practical design skills and be able to manage multiple projects effectively. You’ll obviously need the ambition and leadership potential to develop into the role of Design Manager.

Salary is £45,000 to £55,000 DOE (further salary increase of £10,000 - £20,000 upon appointment as Design Manager), plus performance-related Senior Management bonus scheme, company pension, mobile phone and 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays).
