Now, she’s certainly seen better days, but with lines that sleek, this 90s icon is a prime candidate for a proper restoration project!

# # 🚨 HOLY GRAIL ALERT IN LYMM! 🚨
You know we love a good scrap run, but today we didn't just pick up a car... we did some genuine automotive archaeology.
Take a look at this. Right now, it looks like it’s been auditioning for a role as a decorative garden feature. It’s got more moss than a Welsh forest and enough lichen to start its own ecosystem. It looks sad. It looks abandoned.
**But beneath that shrek-green exterior lies an absolute unicorn.** 🦄
This is a genuine, bona fide, **1-owner, AUTOMATIC Nissan Micra** with—dry your eyes, you read this right—**only 13,000 miles on the clock.** 🤯 13,000! That’s not a mileage, that’s a long weekend for some people! This thing has basically spent the last two decades driving to the local shop for a pint of milk once a week, and that is *it*.
Being a bulletproof little Japanese automatic already makes it highly desirable. But adding the fact that it’s only done 13,000 miles makes it...
* rarer than a sunny bank holiday in Cheshire? ☀️

🚗 WE’RE HIRING 🚗

At Scrap My Car Lymm, we believe too many vehicles that we purchase get crushed before every option has been explored or we can get round to repairing them for re-sale. While many of the cars we buy are no longer roadworthy, some are still repairable and deserve a second chance rather than being immediately scrapped, it’s quite literally, sacrilege but there’s only so many hours in the day. Recycling and reusing vehicles wherever possible is far better for the environment and helps reduce unnecessary waste ♻️

A lot of the cars we collect are simply too good to scrap, so wherever possible we try to find them a new home instead. Of course, when dealing with probate vehicles and similar situations where customers specifically want a certificate of destruction (COD) we will provide one, we always make sure we have full permission from our customers and that they’re completely happy before any vehicle is resold or reused.

That’s why we’re looking for an experienced mechanic / oily-fingered problem solver to join the team 🔧

🚨 CAR OF THE YEAR… SO FAR! 🚨

Today’s collection wasn’t your average “end-of-life Astra”… oh no… this one’s a proper blast from the past 😍

Say hello to this 1980 Datsun 180D SSS – BARN FIND! 🐄🚗

This beauty has clearly been tucked away for years, and finding one like this in the UK is like spotting a unicorn… seriously, there are thought to be only around 8 left in total, with just a handful still on the road! 😮 ()

For those who don’t know, the SSS badge stood for “Super Sport Sedan”, meaning this wasn’t your average runabout back in the day – it was the top-spec, sporty version of the range 💪 ()

Under the bonnet, these typically packed a 1.8L engine with rear-wheel drive… simple, tough, and built in an era when cars were designed to LAST (and rust… let’s be honest 😂). Many didn’t survive thanks to corrosion, which makes barn finds like this even more special! ()

And let’s be real… this one has seen things 👀
Probably parked up “just for a few months” sometime in the 90s… and here we are in 2026 dragging it back into daylight!
