☀️ What a blooming brilliant summer it has been - all topped off with a fantastic weekend in Spain with friends, hence my post-summer post being later than everyone else!

I can honestly say that this was the first summer where I didn’t feel the pressure of “the juggle”. My husband changed careers in early 2025 and that has made a massive difference to how I was able to approach these holidays differently – it really doesn’t go unnoticed how fortunate I am for this to be the case.

But I made the conscious effort this year to remind myself that the holidays are for us adults as much as they are for the kids - and what a difference it made.

Here are a few things that helped me enjoy my summer:

👉 Being present and in the moment – whether I was working or with the family, I tried to give it my focus. A tough one for me as my mind is always thinking what’s next or what do I need to do. Work in progress but makes such a difference when I am intentional!

👉 Keeping up the good habits –even when we were away, I kept up with my online fitness classes twice a week and 8k steps a day. I even set my alarm to get up and out whilst everyone was still asleep. Never had that dedication before!

👉 Turning off work emails – do you know, they still aren’t on my phone! And I plan to keep it that way too. I work when I am at my laptop and if out of the office then my clients know that I might not respond as quickly as usual. Total game changer helping me to be present in whatever I am doing

👉 Delegating – and this is both at work AND at home. I’ve realised that it doesn’t all need to sit on my shoulders. The hardest part is relinquishing the responsibility and the irony isn’t lost on me that this is exactly what my clients have to do 🤣)

👉 Taking time for myself and not feeling guilty for it – I have enjoyed my time with others but I have also enjoyed grabbing some time just for me. Daily walks, fresh air, reading before bed, even a little trip to Happy Place Festival.

And now we return to routine at Team Fletch HQ but my goodness it hits differently this year. Instead of feeling burnt out and overwhelmed, this time I feel energised for what's ahead!

Let’s do this 💪🏻

Can't really believe that I am typing this but... 😲

✨ I’m absolutely thrilled (and really rather stunned!) to be named a finalist in the Virtual Assistant of the Year category at the Digital Women Awards 2025✨

To be part of such a brilliant line-up - featuring some incredible VAs who I know and admire, and others who I look forward to meeting - comes with a serious case of 'why me?!' 🤷‍♀️ Er, hello imposter syndrome! 👋🙄

Life is full, business is busy and to be honest, just being nominated by one of my peers was an honour in itself. I genuinely had zero expectation that I’d make it to the finals.

This is such a confidence boost and a gentle nudge to sit back, take a breath and acknowledge just how far I’ve come in the last 2 and a half years.

As a VA, I live and work in the digital world - without it, my role simply wouldn’t (and couldn’t) exist. It enables me to work flexibly, support my clients across sectors and grow a business I genuinely love. Whilst I would never consider myself to be a tech guru, I will always be grateful for the opportunities that technology affords me.

Thank you to for creating a platform and recognising the amazing work being done behind the screens. I love being part of the community and this acknowledgement has put a real spring in my step this week 😀

Well, this is really rather lovely! 💛

I’ve just found out that I’ve been nominated for Virtual Assistant of the Year as part of the Digital Women Awards 2025 – what a wonderful surprise! 🎉

I have absolutely no idea who put my name forward, but to whoever you are… thank you! It’s an honour to be recognised for the work I do, making life that little bit easier for my clients who are busy entrepreneurs themselves.

If you’re my mystery nominator, please step forward and make yourself known – I owe you a big thank you for cheering up my week!

I am really excited to being venturing away from my desk tomorrow and heading into Birmingham for the Brand, Lead & Grow Festival 🎉

A chance to have my mind blown by all the amazing speakers lined up and also to finally meet lots of my fellow DW members in actual real life 🙌🏻

If you’re going to be there, let’s make sure we say hi 👋🏻

What better way to start a Wednesday than with these wonderful words from Lucy at !

I first worked with Lucy through one of my longest standing clients (thank you for connecting us!) and have subsequently also enjoyed working directly with Lucy on projects.

Like many of us, I can sometimes feel a bit 'icky' when sharing the kind words I receive from my clients but I also know that my work relies on word of mouth and recommendation so here goes!

Time management can be tricky when you’re wearing ALLLLLLL the hats - mum, business owner, chef, housekeeper, friend, you name it.

Here’s how I (try to) manage my time without losing my mind:

⏰𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: I swear by time blocking for my work, setting specific times for client meetings, client tasks and building my own business. I am getting better at doing the same for my family and for self-care. If it’s scheduled in, it generally happens!

🚫𝗦𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗼: This is a big one - don’t be afraid to say no to extra commitments. Whether it’s another work project or volunteering at your children's school, know your limits and protect your time.

⚙𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻: I love using automation tools for my business—whether it’s scheduling emails or setting up recurring tasks or setting reminders to collect the kids from school. The less I have to think about the small stuff, the better!

👏𝗗𝗼 𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: At the end of each day, I try to review what I’ve accomplished and what needs to carry over to tomorrow. It helps me stay on top of everything and avoid getting overwhelmed. Having a 'Done' list as well as a 'To Do' list can be incredibly empowering and encouraging!

✨𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀: It seems counterproductive, but taking short breaks actually helps you get more done. When I start feeling drained, I step away for 5 minutes, and I always come back more focused and energised.

This quote has become my mantra in recent months.

As a working mum who is also trying to grow her business - as well as running a house and trying to be the best wife/family member/friend I can be - I frequently feel guilty and absent.

My mind constantly thinks about the next task or the next place I needed to be and I regularly don't take the time to be present in what I am doing at that moment in time.

The summer holidays gave me an opportunity to set specific time for work and for family and I made a real effort to be present and in the moment. I did a pretty good job - nobody is perfect, hey? - and I have some wonderful memories as a result!

Disclaimer: this lovely photo of me and my girls on an evening walk was taken by my husband on the 2nd day of our holiday - looks perfect, right? Well it was after spending the first 24 hours of the holiday being vomited on by my 2-year old - a picture might paint a 1,000 words but it doesn't always tell the full story!

✨𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗱✨

Let’s face it—there are days when the overwhelm is real, and it’s hard to even know where to start. Here are some examples of what I do when I’m feeling like I’m drowning in tasks:

🧠𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗽: First, get everything out of your head and onto paper. It’s a massive relief to have all those swirling thoughts written down. Once it’s out, you can start prioritise and organise.

☝️𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸: Choose one thing from your list and focus ONLY on that. When you’re overwhelmed, don’t try to multitask or juggle too many things. Just finish one task, then move on to the next. The sense of accomplishment will spur you on for the next task.

⏰𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀: Don’t force yourself to power through the entire day without a break. You’ll burn out fast! Even a 10-minute walk around a field close to my house helps me reset and come back with more energy and focus.

❓𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽: Whether it’s your partner, a colleague or business buddy, or even the kids, don’t hesitate to ask for help. We can’t do it all on our own, and there’s no shame in sharing the load.

❤️‍🩹𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳: Accept that some days are just hard, and that’s okay. Give yourself grace and know that tomorrow is a new day.

If you are feeling the effect of overwhelm right now, then please talk to someone - sharing and offloading definitely helps. My inbox is always open ❣️

With summer a distant memory and September feeling like a 'new year' kind of vibe, I thought I would take a moment to re-introduce myself - particularly after my intermittent presence here in recent months!

So hi 👋 hello there 👋and thanks for being here!

🙂 My name is Sarah, a Virtual Assistant from Warwick. I currently support 7 clients from varying industries with things like social media management, email marketing, website planning, accountability and process management

❤I set up my business in January 2023 after maternity leave to give me flexibility for my family and to satisfy my need for variety which comes from my background in project management. I love my job and am so proud of what I am creating and the impact I can have on my client's businesses

👨‍👩‍👧‍👧I have two girls (plus a husband) and will always be honest about the juggles I face being a mum and a business owner. I have also previously shared that I am on the roller coaster that is peri-menopause (oh what fun that continues to be!) and the challenges that brain fog brings to someone who is renowned for being organised and a relentless planner!🤯

So whilst we're in a sharing mood, tell me something I don't already know about you! Share in the comments or drop me a DM 🤩

This week I am preparing to set my Out of Office so the time has come to switch off and dedicate myself to my girls (and my husband too obviously) for a couple of weeks ❤

This will be my first proper break in a few months so I am feeling ready to down tools for a little while. I am going to do my best to switch off and be present with my family - no doubt with a glass of wine in my hand too!

Looking forward to taking a step back and thinking about my future plans for my business too - there's nothing quite like time away to get the creative juices flowing and to think about future goals and ambitions!

See you on the other side! ☀️

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs 🎢 The same can be said for business.....and parenthood, in fact! So today I want to remind you to always celebrate your wins!

Every win, whether it's achieving a major milestone, conquering a personal goal, or even making it through a tough day, deserves recognition. Celebrating these moments not only boosts our morale but also motivates us to keep pushing forward. It's a way of acknowledging our hard work and progress, and it reminds us of our potential to achieve even greater things.

So, raise a glass🥂, do a happy dance💃, or share with others! Remember every step forward is worth celebrating so bask in the glory of your wins, no matter how big or small! 🎉

So in the interests of practicing what I preach, my wins for this year are:
📈Continuing to grow my business by working with new clients
‍📚Making the most of the learning opportunities which come my way, particularly with the regular trainings on offer through my memberships with and
❤️Making sure that self care is prioritised (not perfect at this, but definitely better than I used to be!)
🤸‍♀️Supporting my daughter to achieve her goals in cheerleading and tumbling
🥳Putting more of a focus on fun with weekends away and nights out with my husband, family and friends

So tell me, what are your wins so that I can celebrate with you!
