Exploring how patterned glass, dynamic LEDs and responsive behaviours can create a more immersive vehicle interior.
Waterfall Lighting began as an exploration within a full-scale interior buck, investigating how ambient lighting could become more than a source of illumination.
Using patterned and textured glass to manipulate and diffuse addressable LED light, the concept creates soft, flowing effects across interior surfaces. Rather than uniform illumination, light becomes an interior material, adding atmosphere, depth and movement to the cabin.
The Waterfall Lighting concept was subsequently developed further by Bentley, appearing in the virtual interior of the EXP 15 design vision vehicle before being featured in physical form in the soon-to-be-launched Bentley Torcal, Bentley’s first fully electric production vehicle.
