DCA were at Milan Design Week 2026, where we gathered plenty of inspiration from three key design districts.
Our first day focused on the Tortona District, where we engaged with experimental, immersive, and material-led exhibitions. There was a strong focus on innovation and sustainability across installations and brand showcases, notably at Super Studio, where Samsung’s ‘Design is an Act of Love’ explored human-centric design within an interactive spatial environment.
Our second day explored the Brera District, where design is embedded within the urban fabric. Showrooms and exhibitions presented a more curated, narrative-driven approach, blending heritage with contemporary design thinking. Noteworthy exhibitions included IKEA’s ‘Food For Thought’, where designers explored the rituals of cooking and eating through reinterpreted domestic spaces, and three new product pieces that capture playful functionality were also unveiled.
Our final day was dedicated to the Salone del Mobile, offering a comprehensive overview of international design at scale. Leading brands presented new collections across furniture and lighting, with a noticeable shift towards refined detailing, material longevity, and modular systems. A shift towards AI utilisation in furniture design was reinforced by Kartell and Philippe Starck’s new collection, which prioritised sustainability through optimised material usage whilst preserving beautiful form.
We have been left inspired by where design is heading next and look forward to attending next year’s event.

How could you design products for every human being on the planet?
Humans are almost infinitely variable, yet many designs still rely on standard dimensions that exclude users.
At DCA, we have developed the EVERYBODY™ Digital Mannequin, an infinitely customisable anthropometric model that represents an enormous range of real human bodies in CAD software.
It enables designers to test products in real time with diverse users, pushing human-centred design further.
Learn how it was developed and how we are using it in the article below:

Built with purpose.
Our multidisciplinary team came together to bring the Pain Phone to life - from research and testing to prototyping, engineering, and fabrication.

What started as an ambitious idea became a real solution, helping thousands get access to vital healthcare. A reminder of what design can do when it puts people first.

Designing for impact, not just aesthetics.

In partnership with Panadol and Haleon, we helped create the Pain Phone - a remote healthcare unit bringing critical medical access to rural Indonesia, where over 42 million people delay treatment due to distance.

Engineered and prototyped in just 2 months, this telemedicine kiosk allows patients to consult with healthcare professionals and share vital health data - all without leaving their village.

A huge congratulations to Harry Colbert, winner of the DCA Futures Award 2025!

👏👏👏

Harry has created a compelling product that captures multisensory memories. The capture device allows you to focus on being in the moment without the distractions of complicated interfaces and the pursuit of perfectionism. The playback device allows the user to reexperience authentic and immersive memories through visual, audio, temperatures and haptic feedback.

Well done to everyone who exhibited and particularly those who received a "love tag" from us.
