As well as being a VA I’m a mum of three, dog and cat mum, and wife to Simon Watling

With 23 years of administrative experience behind me, starting out on Reception and working my way up to Executive Assistant, I’ve supported leaders, teams, and organisations across a variety of sectors such as trades, charity, education, adult care, psychology, and business coaching.

In 2016, I launched AF Admin Angel to continue a career that worked around family life while still doing what I love: bringing order, clarity, and calm to busy people.

Today, my focus is supporting tradesmen and trade businesses, helping them stay organised, professional, and ahead of the chaos so they can focus on the work that actually earns. Having helped set up my husband’s plumbing business from scratch — every form, every system, every late‑night “we’ll figure it out” moment. I’ve seen firsthand the graft, the pride, and the transformation that happens when a job is done well.

When I’m not streamlining someone’s operations, you’ll find me juggling kids’ schedules, cheering on Arsenal or walking the dog. No day is ever the same, that’s what I love about my work.

Life can be manic especially when you’re running a business. Here’s some helpful hints to help you prioritise tasks so you can make progress instead of regress.

✅ Urgent tasks are those that demand your immediate attention (e.g. have deadlines, crises).

✅ Important tasks contribute to long-term goals (e.g., planning, growth).

Put tasks into 4 categories:

🔴 Do now: the task meets the criteria for both urgent and important

🟠 Schedule: the task meets the important criteria but not the urgent

🟢 Delegate: the task is urgent but not important. Utilise staff to help you achieve the task.

🟡 Eliminate: the task is neither urgent nor important.
