This superb model in its glass case is for sale through the Wells Carnival Auction page.

Model of Tall Ship “DANMARK” in glass case.

This model was lovingly built in the 1970s over a period of 2 ½ years and took 850 hours to complete. The detail of the vessel and rigging is outstanding. The boat fills the case which measures 108cm x 67cm x 38cm.

History of the full size ship.

The Danmark was launched in 1933 from the Nakskov Shipworks in Denmark to serve as a training ship for the Danish merchant navy. After 88 years in service, during WW2 I was based in the US, the steel-hulled, three-masted full-rigged ship continues to functionas a training vessel for young people seeking careers at sea. The ship has 26 sails and 219 rig ropes.

Acting on behalf of the seller we have been instructed to offer the ship, including case, for £450.00.

We think that this is excellent value as it only represents the current cost of the of the bare kit without the inherent cost of finishing materials and the 800 hours over two and a half years of lapsed build time. At this price the glass case is effectively free!

This fine quality cherry wood French made bed comes from the prestigious Brigitte Forestier workshop that is widely known for their Lit Bateau (sleigh bed) and other high quality cherry wood furniture. Whilst this is not a full sleigh bed it is made in similar style and to the same exacting standards but with a lower foot board. These beds rarely come up for sale and this is in very well-kept condition and very keenly priced at £350.00.

I guess there is a saying, “And the beat goes on!”

A number of items from the auction remained unsold and we have also been asked to sell some additional items on behalf of the owners so this page will continue to function as an avenue for selling donated items and some that will be sold on commission. The items will also be advertised in Marketplace and local sales pages.

If you have an item to donate or you would like us to sell it on your behalf please contact us.

Well folks, it’s all done and dusted! Thank you to all the people that brought items to sell, both donated and on commission, and to those that attended and bought some of the goodies on sale. Thanks too for the members of the Carnival crew that pulled together to make the auction event happen and to the Carnival catering group who provided the delicious, and definately needed, sausage and bacon rolls and drinks to accompany them.
Well done all!

Saturday evening already and more pledged lots collected today, hopefully many more to arrive on Monday morning between 6.30am and 9am.

Just going to put this lot up as the needlework is superb. This is a Gugerati small wall hanging (approx 2ft x 2ft) displaying the Hindu god Ganesha as the central deity. So much detail and a very interesting piece.
