This superb model in its glass case is for sale through the Wells Carnival Auction page.
Model of Tall Ship “DANMARK” in glass case.
This model was lovingly built in the 1970s over a period of 2 ½ years and took 850 hours to complete. The detail of the vessel and rigging is outstanding. The boat fills the case which measures 108cm x 67cm x 38cm.
History of the full size ship.
The Danmark was launched in 1933 from the Nakskov Shipworks in Denmark to serve as a training ship for the Danish merchant navy. After 88 years in service, during WW2 I was based in the US, the steel-hulled, three-masted full-rigged ship continues to functionas a training vessel for young people seeking careers at sea. The ship has 26 sails and 219 rig ropes.
Acting on behalf of the seller we have been instructed to offer the ship, including case, for £450.00.
We think that this is excellent value as it only represents the current cost of the of the bare kit without the inherent cost of finishing materials and the 800 hours over two and a half years of lapsed build time. At this price the glass case is effectively free!
