Diwali is the festival of light. It reminds that even when life feels uncertain or heavy, the light within us never truly goes out. Today take a moment to light a candle, breathe and ask yourself, where in my life do I need to bring more light? Happy Diwali!

When was the last time you truly offered yourself kindness. No strings attached?

The idea of Unconditional Positive Regard was introduced by psychologist Carl Rogers, who believed that people grow best when they’re accepted just as they are, with no judgment, no conditions and no pressure to “get it right” first.

We often extend this grace to others… but rarely to ourselves.

👉 You beat yourself up for not being productive enough.
👉 You attach your worth to how much you've achieved.
👉 You withhold rest, compassion and care until you've "earned it."

But here’s the truth: You don’t need to tick every box to deserve kindness.

Especially when you're feeling stressed, overwhelmed or off track, that’s exactly when you need it most.

So today, I want to gently ask you:

Can you offer yourself the same grace you’d give a close friend?

It's the 1st April and it’s the perfect time to pause, breathe and reflect.

Quarter 1 is complete.

Whether it flew by in a blink or felt like a marathon, you made it. That in itself is a win worth celebrating.

✨ Maybe you hit your quarter 1 goals.
✨ Perhaps you simply got through your to-dos.
✨ Potentially you grew in ways you did not expect.

This is your reminder that resilience isn’t always loud or obvious.

💗 Sometimes it’s quietly showing up for yourself again and again.
💗 Sometimes it’s choosing rest.
💗 Sometimes it’s learning from what didn’t work and refocusing.

As the days grow longer and Spring flowers start to bloom, let this be your inner Spring too.

🌿 What are you planting this quarter?
🌿 What lessons are you carrying forward?
🌿 What will you water with your time, energy, and heart?

✔️ Let’s step into Q2 with intention, not pressure.
✔️ Clarity, not perfection.
✔️ Commitment to grow with grace.

Here’s to small wins, fresh starts and resilient hearts. 💗

I'm celebrating the fact that I focused on progress and not perfection.

What quarter 1 wins are you celebrating? Leave a comment below.

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself - Rumi

When your thoughts and feelings are in alignment with your Vision know that that you are so much closer to your destination.

When all three are in alignment notice how excited and optimistic you feel.

It is also likely that you will be outside your comfort zone and in your challenge zone. This is OK, because it is in this place you grow, stretch and learn.

There's a scene in the film "Mean Girls" where the Plastics stand in front of a mirror and list all of their "defects", and it got me thinking:

How often do we stand in front of the mirror and list all of the things we love about ourselves?

I find that as humans, we are often self-deprecating and this kind of behaviour impacts your self esteem and self worth.

Here's a challenge for you:

Make a list of all of your qualities today.
All of the things you love about yourself.
All of the things you're proud of.

How do you feel after writing that list?

Let me know in the comments.

Being a carer most of my life, this is an area of self-care that I have personally struggled with.

When you combine work and family responsibilities, there usually is little time for having fun. But all work and no play is quite depleting.

It's important to MAKE the time to indulge in your favourite hobbies and actually enjoy life.

A great tip that's helped me is to block out the time in my schedule.

Even if it's a 1-hour block to go on a walk or read a book away from the computer.

"Mental health problems don't define who you are. They are something that you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but importantly, you are not the rain. " - Mark Haig

I have just spent two days completing the Mental Health First Aider course which I thoroughly enjoyed. I learned so much and many light bulb moments about my own experiences of poor mental.

I feel really proud to be joining a community of over half a million people in England who are trained in mental health first aid skills and now able to help others find the support they need.

I always promoted the importance of talking about mental health and feel proud to be part of a vision where society accepts mental health as a normal part of life and where everyone has the skills to look after their own and other people's wellbeing.
