What is a VA and why would you hire one?
I feel like if this post would have been a little different if it was written back in February - before the global pandemic crisis hit the UK. The world has seen some unprecedented change since, with more to come.
Recently I’ve been having very different conversations with companies, with more people based from home and, sadly, redundancies happening, business need flexibility in the current climate as the demands of projects and programs still need to be completed on time and in budget.
Myself and the VA’s are being asked by businesses to work on projects and tasks which are no longer being run by their employees. So, what is a VA I hear you ask…
A VA, also known as a Virtual Assistant is similar to a virtual PA, we work with businesses doing tasks or projects they either don’t know how to do, don’t like doing, or don’t have the bandwidth – we work on a freelance basis.
We all have our niche area of expertise which means companies can reach out the right VA around the skill areas they require. VA’s work as independent contractors. This means we handle all our own expenses, including taxes and insurance. My experience at The Cloud VA lies in Partner Program Management, B2B Marketing, Event Management to Personal and Executive Administration.
Some of my current projects includes managing my clients partner accreditations, project managing a 12 month partner engagement program & running a third party training plan.
Businesses have various reasons why they would look to hire a VA, they may not be in a position to commit to employ someone to fulfil that project or task, or it’s not able to be handled internally because of lack of skillset or/and bandwidth.
You might especially want to hire a VA if:
You are overwhelmed by your current workload.
You want you or your staff to use time more productively.
You can not afford another employed staff member.
You need something done that you do not have the skills to do yourself.
You simply hire a VA to perform a specific job, pay us for our time, and that’s it. Think of all the money you’ll save that can be better used elsewhere!
