Learning doesn’t end at graduation.

Industries, technology and ways of working are constantly evolving, making continued learning an important part of staying effective, adaptable and confident throughout your career.

Our latest Tactic News blog looks at the importance of continuing education, from keeping your knowledge and skills up to date to supporting career progression, professional development and new opportunities.

It also explores the role of CPD and why continued learning can benefit not only individuals, but the organisations they work for.

A strong sponsorship proposal should do more than explain why your organisation needs support.

It should show a potential sponsor why the partnership makes sense for them.

That means understanding their objectives, clearly communicating what makes your organisation unique, demonstrating the value of your audience, and presenting creative opportunities that help their brand connect with people in a meaningful way.

In the latest edition of Off-Field Wins, we break down seven key steps for creating a more compelling sponsorship proposal — from researching the right partner to demonstrating measurable return on investment.

Swipe through the carousel and consider:

Are you asking for sponsorship, or presenting a valuable partnership opportunity?

Need support developing your sponsorship proposition or communicating it more effectively?

When trustees understand their roles and responsibilities, organisations are better equipped to make informed decisions, manage risk and create lasting impact.

At Tactic Connect, our trustee training helps boards build confidence, strengthen governance and develop the skills needed to lead effectively.

We’re proud to share that Genevieve Gordon-Thomson, CEO of Tactic Connect in her role as Commercial and Legal Director forthe Netball Players Association, has contributed to NFP’s Rethinking High-Performance magazine.

The publication explores how organisations can move beyond short-term performance thinking and create environments where people and teams can thrive under pressure.

Drawing on her experience across sport, governance and athlete support, Genevieve highlights an important message:

High performance is not just about the result.
It is about the support, culture and structure that makes sustained performance possible.

From learning quickly after setbacks, to recognising different strengths within a team, her contribution reinforces the need for performance environments that are inclusive, supportive and built for the long term.

A brilliant piece for anyone involved in sport, leadership, people development or organisational culture.

Governance is not simply about policies, procedures or compliance.

It is about trust.

When roles are unclear, decisions appear inconsistent or communication lacks transparency, confidence can quickly begin to fall.

That affects more than the boardroom.

It can influence how staff, athletes, members, volunteers, partners and sponsors view the organisation as a whole.

Strong governance helps people understand:
* Who is responsible for making decisions
* How those decisions are reached
* What standards guide the organisation
* How concerns can be raised
* Where accountability sits

A simple framework is to focus on four areas:

Clarity
Define responsibilities, authority and lines of accountability.

Transparency
Explain how and why important decisions are made.

Consistency
Apply policies and standards fairly across the organisation.

Accountability
Create clear processes for review, challenge and improvement.

Good governance does not remove difficult decisions.

It creates greater confidence in how those decisions are made.

* Better governance leads to better decisions
* Better decisions build stronger organisations
* And stronger organisations earn trust

At Tactic Connect, we help organisations across sport develop practical governance structures that support clarity, confidence and sustainable growth.

How confident are your stakeholders in the way your organisation is governed?

Here's something we see consistently when we first speak to a grassroots sports club about their brand:

They know something isn't quite working. Their sponsorship conversations stall. Their social media feels like it belongs to a different club every week. Their kit looks a little behind where the club actually is.

But because nobody's ever framed it as a strategic problem — only a design one — it stays on the "nice to have" list indefinitely.

The shift we try to create is this: your visual identity isn't a cosmetic concern. It's commercial infrastructure. And treating it that way changes what you prioritise and what you're willing to invest.

We've written about this in detail for anyone involved in running or advising grassroots sports clubs.

Does your club's image match the effort your members put in every week?

Most grassroots sports clubs are run by people who give everything — early starts, late finishes, endless WhatsApp messages. But when it comes to how the club looks to the outside world, that same level of care doesn't always come through.

The result? Sponsorship conversations that don't go anywhere. Families choosing the club down the road. Players who'd be a great fit never quite committing.

The good news is that smart design doesn't require a big budget. It requires the right thinking, applied in the right places.

We've written about exactly this — how grassroots clubs can close the gap between how good they actually are and how good they look. Worth a read if your club is heading into a new season or thinking about a kit refresh.

Do the Commonwealth Games Still Matter? is the latest blog by our trainee paralegal, Kobe Van Hecke.

In this piece, Kobe explores the ongoing debate surrounding the relevance of the Commonwealth Games ahead of Glasgow 2026. While the Games continue to provide significant opportunities for athletes, host cities, and sports outside the Olympic spotlight, they also face growing scrutiny over rising costs, declining host interest, and questions surrounding the modern identity of the Commonwealth itself.

The blog considers whether Glasgow 2026 represents a fresh, sustainable model for the future, or simply the latest chapter in a competition searching for its place in modern sport.
