A piece of my heart has broken. He is where my love of Goldens began and now he is gone.

He was also my escape in some very dark times. I was able to open my phone and lose myself for a moment. What I would have given to kiss that floofy sugar face.

I loved watching his videos which became movie-worthy in recent years. But back in the early days my then little kids would climb on my lap and we would watch and laugh together. Core memories were made with Tucker.

I loved the sketches of course but I also loved the stories. Watching him be the dog he was, roobing on the walls and wrestling with Todd. I geeked out on pack dynamics and just what an awesome, stable dog he was. He was everything you would hope a Golden would be.

He was also the OG of dogstagram, and that was the genius of Courtney who I have wept a river with this afternoon. Because what she did was brilliant and authentic but also so pure. And the beauty of it was that Tucker never knew how famous he was. She gave him the best ordinary life a dog could ask for whilst sharing him with the world. And in return he was the best therapy dog she could have dreamed of.

There are no words that can heal hers and Mike’s pain…and Todd… Oh Todd… 💔 We can only grieve with them. Because losing a dog is losing a part of oneself, and losing one so suddenly is beyond painful…but having to share that with the world also…only they know the weight of that burden…

Tucker you were the best. I can’t wait to receive your book I ordered because one day in the future I will make more core memories with you and my grandkids.
