Gonna be a warm day here at Lingfield Farmers Market. Glad I left the upstairs windows open at the winery, seeing as we have bookings this afternoon. Contracts on Elm Farm are pretty much there now. Just the conditions report and scope of works to complete, then the hard work begins!

Update on the phone situation. XLN contacted me yesterday, with an offer, following the non service and delays. The offer was to wave the cancellation fees and the charges (some £69) for the service to date, what services? Call that an offer, oh and our phone line is still dead because they won't port the number over to BT until we agree. I'm thinking court action, any idea people?

Evening people, Well, some drama sorted, some more to sort.

We have been without broadband for almost 6 weeks, thanks to a company called XLN, who suck, big time.

So we reluctantly switched to BT (XLN are trying to force us to pay cancellation fees despite the fact we had NO BROADBAND!), well good luck with that. Anywho's, we now have broadband, but we have no phone line. But, we were told b4 we booked that any mobile phone would be able to use the digital line, ANY mobile phone, young or old, in fact I was told to dig out an old mobile and use that. It will only work with Android 10 or above or Apple.

So now I have had to order a digital filter/router something or other, at a cost of nearly £50, and I am now looking for a newer mobile phone, despite the fact that mine works absolutely fine and does not need changing, until now.

So, if you want to contact us, please call my mobile number 07760 437 185, I doubt I will have this sorted before the end of next week and we are away Monday to Wednesday next week.

Well, that's showbusiness I guess.

OK, I do not usually put up such posts. However, today, I think I have no choice.

We took a booking for today, 6 people, wine tasting with cheese, biscuits and charcuterie board. Booked weeks ago.

Can I just say we are NOT usually open on Sundays, so put ourselves out for the booking.

So a car turns up, they approach the door, "is this the right place?" "There are signs on three sides of the building, so yes. I asume you are my 1:30pm booking so yes", "yes we are, we are just waiting for the other four". "Great, no problem, table all set, come upstairs when you are ready."

And then, he comes in and says, and I quote. "Oh, we thought there was a vineyard". Err did you check the website, that clearly states we DO NOT have a vineyard.

"We though it was a bit like Squerry's. My sister has come from overseas and really wanted a vineyard tour"

"Again did you check the website?"

"Oh yes, I did."

"And the fact it states we do not have a vineyard?"

"Yes we did check it, but we had different expetations" ??????? What does that mean? I magically planted a vineyard last week?

Oh, ok, Squerry's is about a mile that way (also does not have a vineyard tour because that is about another 1.5 miles away from there tasting room, and they really hate people walking around. I am not wasting my breath here)

It's that way, please leave. And thanks for wasting my time.

So Lewis Swan, thank you for wasting my time, and ruining my weekend. Strangely enough we people who work in the hospitailty industry actually do have lives. We do not exist just for your benefit, no, we have things to do. I had many things I wanted to do today, but no, I opened the winery on a day we usually do not because you are so precious that you can't read a website correctly, assume I have nothing else to do, that my wife does not want me at home ON A SUNDAY. Why the hell would I have something else to do?

This guy is obviously from the Kerr Family. I bet his brother is named Wayne.

A bit of respect, that is all we want. And yes, I should have charged you for the booking.

winery is open today from midday and tomorrow too. Visit www.westfisher.co.uk and visit our booking page to reserve a spot. We are open weekly from Thursday to Sunday every week. We still locally produced wines, liqueurs, cider and beers. We also stock locally sourced (shot) venison sausages, burgers and leg steaks. we also sell child & dog friendly too
