The foundation of Londinium by the Romans around AD 50 marked the beginning of a significant urban center at a strategic bridge over the river Thames. After being destroyed by fire during the Boudican revolt of AD 60–61, the city was rebuilt and evolved into the administrative capital and largest city of the province of Britannia. Its bustling port capitalized on trade from the empire, leading to the construction of monumental public buildings, including a forum and amphitheatre.

Around AD 200, residents built a stone wall approximately 2.5 miles long, enclosing about 134 hectares, making London the largest enclosed urban area in Roman Britain. Today, very little of this wall remains.

In February this year, we were tasked with a hoarding installation at 140 London Wall, located on a part of this historic site. Transporting materials to the upper level presented challenges, but with innovative thinking reminiscent of Roman ingenuity, our team worked diligently to create a freestanding structure encased in galvanised steel sheets. The final result was a strikingly futuristic installation.

The team successfully completed a mainsfree scaffold alarm installation at this site in EC1V yesterday, while works are progressing on the roof area.
The alarm, with a dialler and clear signage will help to deter potential intrusions.
