In a few days time HR180 will be 19 years old ๐ฅณ๐พ! I've learnt a lot in that time which I am sure I could wax lyrical about ๐ฃ๐ฃ๏ธ!
However, I wanted to focus on the leaders I've met over the years who have impressed me the most.
๐The leaders who genuinely ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ about their staff and continually chose to be kind
๐๐ผThose who showed ๐ต๐๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐, admitted mistakes and mentored others
๐ซกThose who showed ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ for every single person in the building regardless of title or monetary worth
๐๐ผThe ones who demonstrated ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐๐ of spirit, sharing success and lifting others up
๐And those rare gems who were truly ๐ฎ๐๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฐ, leading with their hearts as well as their heads[5]
These are the leaders who've left a lasting impression on me. They didn't need flashy cars, designer watches, or expensive clothes to prove their worth. Their actions spoke louder than any material possession ever could.
I've also encountered those who tried to dazzle me with 'things'. Items they often didn't actually own or hadn't personally worked for. But - true leadership isn't about what you own, it's about who you are and how you make others feel๐ค๐ซ.
As C.S. Lewis wisely said, "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less." The most impressive leaders I've met embodied this principle, focusing on uplifting their teams rather than inflating their own egos ๐.
So here's to the authentic leaders who inspire through their actions, not their accessories. They're the ones who truly make a difference, leaving a legacy of respect, kindness, and genuine care.
As we celebrate 19 years of HR180, I'm grateful for all the lessons these remarkable leaders have taught me. Here's to many more years of learning, growing, and striving to be the kind of leader who makes a positive impact on others!
