Trick or treacle? 🎃

A sticky, golden Halloween treat in a buttery Dorset Sweet Shortcrust case. Sweet, lifted with a little lemon and wonderfully simple to make.

You’ll need:
    •    Dorset Pastry Sweet Shortcrust
    •    40g day-old breadcrumbs
    •    1 small egg
    •    2 tbsp double cream
    •    75g golden syrup
    •    Zest of ½ lemon

Method:
👉 Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and leave to stand while you line the tart tins.
👉 Line the tins with pastry, rolled to approximately 2 to 3mm thick.
👉 Fill the pastry cases about two-thirds full with the treacle mixture.
👉 Bake at 190°C / Gas 5 for 15 to 20 minutes until the filling is set.

There was really only one true superstar at our photoshoot this morning!

Dennis, the Dachshund, happily posed on the forklift for Lara Jane Thorpe Photography.

Just in case this image wasn't evidence enough, we are dog-friendly. So why not pop in for a coffee or lunch at Smiths and enjoy some of the countryside walks from our estate.

A huge thank you to Lara for visiting us on this wonderfully bright morning (before the storm hits) and for getting some incredible shots. We look forward to seeing the edited photos next week.
