This very evocative, original pastel. Depicts steam train 35009, historically know as "Shaw Savill". On it's way to Barry Docks. Where it survived until the late 80's.
It's home now, is in Bury, Lancashire. Undergoing a complete overhaul.👏

The original mount had seen better days. So, a new overlay mount in "Ginger Root" was added. Still showing the original white lines.

And the most perfect moulding was added, around the original frame. An Italian one, from the "Anvil" range.(All from Larson-Juhl UK) Those rivets were just made for it! 😁

It's always nice to see, how customers framing ends up being displayed.
This medal was presented to the Chernobyl liquidators, who were called upon to deal with the consequences of the 1986 disaster.

Here it has been mounted on conservation whitecore "Vanilla."
With a "Vermilion" outer mount, which has a narrow gold mount slip.
Framed in a gold 21mm moulding from the "Rembrandt" range. All from Larson-Juhl UK
Finished with Ultra Vue 70 glass. From Tru Vue
Everything is reversible, should the medal ever need to be removed.
Very special, don't you think? 👌
