The non-stop, fast paced routine kicks off again.

This week your social media feeds have no doubt been jam-packed with back to school images. Young kids starting high school, tiny kids starting primary school. Big kids starting their final year at school. And everything in between.

Along with starting school, all the extra curricula activities will kick off in earnest - the sports season starts, addtional tutoring begins, music lessons get going again.

The grind of getting kids up and out the door with all the right equipment, enough food and shoes on the right feet, followed by getting them home, refuelled and out again to sports training or performing arts, followed by gathering everyone for dinner and then falling into bed, just to do it all again the next day.

For the next 45 weeks until July next year.

Trying to squeeze everything else in around giving our kids all the opportunities we can.

If this resonates with you, I just want to say YOU ARE A HERO!

It's tough and tiring. I don't have a pithy solution or an exciting new process to manage you're life with ease and keep your house perfectly tidy.

All I can do it let you know, you're not the only one, and no one will care in a year's time how messy the house was. And you're not being measured on how you compare to the other frazzled parents you meet on your weekly journey.

The only thing that really matters is how much you and your kids smiled and laughed, whether they (and you) fall into bed thoroughly warn out having had a fulfilled day, happy and safe.

Everything else is gravy!

So keep going. You rock!

The Culture Report for 2024 by OC Tanner was recently unveiled, shedding light on 5 noteworthy trends for the upcoming year. Let's dive into the next one:

Trend #2: Empathy Reigns Supreme.

In a world consumed by cancel culture, empathy seems to have gone MIA. But here's the deal: if you want a future-fit culture for your organization, empathy is the secret sauce.

It's not just about understanding; it's about genuinely caring for your people and taking action to show it.

Leaders who embrace practical empathy witness a remarkable impact on both their business and bottom line:

🔸 People feel valued and seen (+64%)
🔸 Work satisfaction skyrockets (+40%)
🔸 Workplace culture thrives (+40%)
🔸 Retention rates soar (+3 years)
🔸 Creativity ignites (87%)
🔸 Efficiency skyrockets (86%)
🔸 Innovation flourishes (85%)

Remember, empathy is a skill that can be honed. Empower leaders with actionable steps, training, and resources to understand and meet employee needs. Set boundaries to protect both leaders' well-being and employee support.

Join the empathy revolution!

The Culture Report for 2024 by OC Tanner was recently unveiled, shedding light on 5 noteworthy trends for the upcoming year. Let's dive into one of them:

Trend #1: Embracing the new normal of flexible and remote working.

Despite the constant barrage of headlines, this report reveals that these work arrangements are here to stay.

"Almost half of employees (47%) would quit or look for a new job if they were required to return to the office, and 80% of people who applied for a remote job and were offered an office-based one instead declined the offer."

However, it's not just about where employees work; it's about granting them the freedom to choose how, when, and where they accomplish their tasks. Employers must establish trust and set clear expectations for outcomes, enabling employees to deliver results in ways that benefit both the company and themselves. It's a win-win situation!

Your Business = Britain's Best Kept Secret #3

The power lies within the people. It's the collective efforts of individuals that transform a business into a vibrant community, a tightly-knit tribe, and an unstoppable team.

Just like the remarkable inhabitants of Whitley Bay, who go beyond mere neighbors and unite around their shared love for the town and its captivating seas, your business has the potential to foster an exceptional culture by bringing together the right individuals.

You don't need to aspire to become a colossal multinational corporation with an army of 30,000 employees scattered worldwide to create a remarkable workplace and achieve extraordinary results.

All you need is a group of like-minded individuals, driven by a common purpose, coming together to make magic happen.

Your Business = Britain's Best Kept Secret #2

Whitley Bay, a charming seaside town, serves as a perfect analogy for your business. While it may not boast the glitz and glamour of London, it offers a serene and fulfilling life. Similarly, your business may not have all the flashy attractions, but it provides everything necessary for a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Whitley Bay thrives on its strong community and essential amenities. Just like this town, your business caters to the needs of its clients without burdening them with excessive charges for unnecessary features. Instead, you focus on delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction, much like Whitley Bay's renowned ice-cream parlors, fish and chips shops, and sports clubs.

Your business doesn't need to be widely recognized like London; it simply needs to be known by the right people. By offering the right products or services, you can create a niche market that appreciates and values what you provide. Just as Whitley Bay's allure lies in its simplicity and offering of the right things, your business can thrive by delivering precisely what your target audience desires.

You don't need to be known by everyone, you just need to be known by the right people at the right time.
