Here it is, finally, the completed main elevations @ St Mary's Church, Holywell.
The scaffolding was finally removed this morning at the bell tower gable, so this gave me the opportunity to get out and take photos.
We plan to fit the refurbished notice board and secure a time capsule within the church before Christmas.
Next year, we plan to carry out decoration on the rear garden building elevation and the old boiler house.

Quite a long time since we posted anything but the boys are working very hard with a good order book, now looking at dates in February 2024 !!!
St Mary's Church Holywell has finished for this year with three elevations and the bell tower refurbished and decorated.
We had quite a challenge with numerous timber repairs due to woodworm and wet rot and general neglect over the years. Also the weather in July was seasonally poor with much rain.
However, next year will see the rear ( garden ) elevation and the "boiler house" completed to standard.
If I can persuade Mike and Ben to take before and completion shots of their work, we will be posting more photos soon !!

When we finally got down to the decoration ( after all the matching replacement timber was in place ) the timber was sprayed with Tikkurila Ultra Primer and two coats Ultra Matt water based treatment.
Then all the finished timber and windows were masked off to spray two coats of Zinsser All Coat on the rendered panels.
This has been carried out currently to the one elevation as shown.

It's been very quiet on here but not so for Mike and Ben.
They have been working at St Mary's Church in Holywell on the wettest July on record.
We knew that little in the way of decoration or maintenance had been carried out on the church for many years and we had planned / estimated replacement of damaged / rotten timber that was visible. However, with old buildings the damage is usually far more extensive when you " break the surface" and this has been the case.
Mike and Ben have extensively and systematically removed and replaced in traditional fashion timber that has decayed from initially worm infestation and latterly wet rot. ( no hint of silicone !!)
It's been a demanding slow process due to the frustrating unseasonal wet weather and the numerous repairs needed.
The representatives from the church ( our clients) have been very understanding and supportive of the work the guys have taken on, and there has been a super working relationship.
It will take time but we will get there.
There are numerous ways to support the fund raising set up by the St Mary's Church which is ongoing.
We will keep posting progress photos in the coming weeks.

So a quick update about business changes.
I am stepping back at the end of this month ( makes sense before the next financial year and birthday )
Mike ( son no 2) will take over the business assisted by Ben ( son no 1). We will post new contact details shortly.
I will be involved only in a general overseeing capacity, initially in updating our page and day to day assistance job specific.
