Community news - just ONE WEEK to go until the next Coastal Business Network!

We love seeing the brilliant things our Space@ community gets up to, and Coastal Business Network is a perfect example of what happens when local businesses come together.

Hosted by our community members Helen from H Social alongside Jaime and Nicola from NC Property Finance CBN is all about bringing local businesses together for relaxed networking, good conversations and genuine connections.

And this month, things are getting a little festive!

They'll be welcoming Jane Morland from Margaret Rose Events, who's hosting a short workshop on how to dress your Christmas tree like a pro!

So, alongside meeting some lovely local business owners, you might just come away with a few tricks for making your Christmas tree look extra special this year.

As always, there's no awkward pitching, formal introductions or pressure to work the room. Just a friendly get-together with a brilliant bunch of local people.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

At Space@, we've always believed that a good working environment is about much more than desks, WiFi and somewhere to make a coffee.

It's about people, connection, flexibility and finding a way of working that works for you.

In fact, a 2025 Hays survey found that 84% of hybrid workers said hybrid working had a positive impact on their overall wellbeing.

And it's easy to see why having that balance can be so important.

Working from home has its benefits, but so does getting out of the house, changing your surroundings and spending time around other people.

Sometimes it's a conversation over coffee, someone to bounce an idea off, a friendly face when you arrive or simply having somewhere to go that separates work from home.

At Space@, we love that people can work independently while still feeling part of a community. Whether that's one day a week or every day, it's about having the flexibility to choose what works best for you.

This World Mental Health Day, we're celebrating the importance of connection, balance and creating workplaces where people feel welcome, supported and valued.

Because looking after our mental health matters every day, not just today. 💛

Plus, having the Whitley Bay coastline on your doorstep isn’t too bad either 🌊

As the days get shorter, it can become very easy for working from home to mean spending a LOT of time at home.

Wake up. Laptop open. Work. Laptop closed. And suddenly you realise you haven’t actually been anywhere all day.

Building a change of scenery into your working week can make such a difference.

Get out of the house. Have a proper reason to get ready in the morning. Walk to work. Grab a coffee. See some familiar faces. Have a conversation that isn’t happening through a screen. And maybe squeeze in a lunchtime walk by the sea.

You don’t have to give up working from home altogether either.

Sometimes one or two days somewhere different is exactly what you need.

Make Space@ in your week.
