**Service update**
During what is an exceptional time for our community, we are opening our service to the public for essential grocery items and pet supplies.

It has come to our attention that there are still significant shortages, and outlets are struggling to keep up with demand. We are keen to do our bit in keeping our community flowing as fluidly as possible during this period of uncertainty.

To open an account, email [email protected] with your name, address, contact details, and the stock you require. We will then be able to set you up on a click and collect service where you can order online and pay by card.

We will continue to support our customers and work together as a community throughout the coming weeks in a bid to bring COVID-19 under control.

**STOCK UPDATE**

Due to new restrictions placed upon us this morning by our suppliers, we need to now limit the sale of high-demand products. Our Sales Team will be advising of product limitations during phone orders, and monitoring and adjusting web orders accordingly to maintain fairness and equal opportunities through all ordering channels.

As posted yesterday, we've been keeping a close eye on orders to maintain a good supply, and we'll continue to do so over the coming weeks.

17/03/2020

In light of the recent uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation, and following yesterday's update on our contingency plans, we thought we'd give an insight in to how we're working to keep operations moving as smoothly as possible.

It's hoped that this transparency will lead to a better sense of stability and continuity between Sutherland Brothers and our customers, but also add a little personality and light-heartedness to what, for everyone, is a very unpredictable and worrying time.

To start us off, here's a screen-grab of our Sales Team meeting from this afternoon. Usually, we have a meeting at 9am every morning in which all members of our office and management teams are encouraged to participate.

As we move towards home-working, where practicable, we've had to adapt this and are using GoogleHangouts to check in with each other, both at our usual 9am time and again in the afternoon - today that was 2pm.

We're using this time to make a plan of action and prioritise workload, ensuring we communicate stock levels and buying patterns well so we can update our purchasing and distribution plans accordingly. Like everyone else, we want to eliminate panic-buying, so we're monitoring sales orders closely, and working with customers to ensure everyone has the best chance of receiving what they need.

*Top delivery today was our toilet roll replenishment! Plenty of stock now in place and reserved stock will be making its way out via the usual schedule*

This is uncharted territory for us, as although we use GoogleHangouts regularly for supplier meetings and for members of the team working remotely, this is the first time we've all been away from the office at the same time. It's also the first time we've all used remote phone systems, and we're confident everything is working smoothly.

We'll be posting updates on stock levels and any adjustments to our operations daily, and we remain contactable on 01955 60 50 70 from 8.30am-4pm Mon-Fri, and via [email protected] 7 days a week.

Meanwhile, enjoy a good laugh at everyone's professional sofa face!
