Many organisations talk openly about , yet for many men, speaking honestly about stress, anxiety, overwhelm or challenges can still feel far harder than it should.

The expectation to be strong, resilient and self-reliant hasn’t disappeared. In some workplaces, it simply goes unspoken. The result is that too many men continue to struggle in silence, often waiting until things have become much harder before seeking support.

This , I’ve reshared a blog I wrote in November 2025 exploring some of the unique barriers men face when it comes to mental health at work, along with practical actions that and organisations can take to create a culture where asking for help is seen as a strength, not a weakness.

If the article resonates with you, please share it. You never know who in your network might need to read it today.

Mental health is a critical aspect of overall wellbeing, yet it’s an area that has historically been overlooked, particularly when it comes to men. Societal norms and expectations often discourage men from openly discussing their emotional and psychological struggles, leading to a culture of silen...

I’ve always been fascinated by the so-called “Irish goodbye”.

suggests that quietly leaving a gathering isn’t always about being antisocial. Often it’s about managing energy, avoiding a long, draining exit and knowing your own limits.

A useful reminder that we label as rude may simply be someone taking care of themselves.

A dinner party is winding down. The plates are cleared, and the conversation has turned into that long, circular phase where nobody’s saying much and nobody wants to be the first to leave. Then one person — who had a fine time — stands up, finds their coat, and goes. No lap of the room,...

Workplace isn’t built through a single workshop, awareness day or wellbeing app.

Sorry, employers.

Real wellbeing grows when organisations create the conditions that help people thrive, and that looks different in every workplace.

At Incendo, we offer a range of wellbeing workshops and development programmes covering topics such as management, resilience, , mental health awareness, psychological safety and personal wellbeing.

We also recognise that no two organisations are the same.

That’s why I regularly work with clients to design bespoke wellbeing programmes that reflect their culture, address their specific challenges and support the outcomes they want to achieve.

Whether you’re looking for a one-off workshop, a series of learning events or a longer-term wellbeing strategy, I’d be happy to explore what might work best for your people.

As we come towards the end of , this feels like an important reminder for anyone people right now.

Most workplace doesn’t suddenly appear overnight. It builds gradually through unclear priorities, constant urgency, blurred boundaries and the feeling that recovery time somehow has to be “earned”.

In this blog, I share 7 practical habits that can help prevent stress before teams reach burnout point.

None of them require a huge budget or another initiative. They’re small, everyday leadership behaviours that shape how people actually experience work.

If you lead a team, manage people, or influence workplace culture, I hope there’s something useful here for you.

The best time to address workplace stress isn’t when your team is already overwhelmed – it’s before stress becomes a problem. While most advice focuses on managing existing stress, savvy leaders know that prevention is more powerful than cure.

This is a strong read on how stress travels from leaders to teams, often in small, everyday moments.

Practical ideas too: build in short pauses, map your energy for the week, and model “healthy urgency” so everything stops feeling like an emergency.

Worth a look if you want a workplace people actually enjoy working in.

The biggest performance unlock wasn’t a new tool or process, but learning to regulate my emotional state. You can stop that leak in your leadership, too.

“Do not allow setbacks to set you back.”

That line alone made this TED Talk worth watching.

In a world full of noise, complexity and performative , Stacey Abrams brings things back to three grounded questions:

- What do I want?
- Why do I want it?
- How do I get it?

A thoughtful reminder that can be as simple as continuing to move forward with clarity and purpose (sometimes easier said than done!).

Highly recommended viewing.

How you respond to setbacks is what defines your character, says Stacey Abrams, the first Black woman in the history of the United States to be nominated by a major party for governor. In an electrifying talk, she shares the lessons she learned from her campaign for governor of Georgia -- and some a...

One of the quietest forms of workplace toxicity is also one of the most normalised: benign neglect.

Not being developed.
Not being recognised.
Not being properly supported.

Over time, this chips away at , confidence and , even in organisations filled with “nice” people.

In this blog, I explore why benign neglect happens, what the research tells us, and why attention matters far more than many organisations realise.

When we think of toxic workplaces, we often imagine explosive managers, excessive micromanagement, or fear-based cultures. But one of the most overlooked forms of toxicity is also the quietest: benign neglect.
