Back at this property today, where we found more signs of rat activity in the loft.

The rodenticide had been taken, and we also found a large amount of droppings and a nest hidden in the loft.

🔎 Did you know rat droppings can tell you a lot?

Fresh rat droppings are usually dark and shiny, whereas older droppings tend to become duller and drier over time. It’s one of the things we look for when checking whether rats are still active.

Mouse Control in Wigan 🐭

A live mouse was found in a kitchen, prompting a further inspection of the property. Additional signs of mouse activity were discovered in the loft, including nesting material and evidence of rodent activity.

We identified the areas of concern and put a treatment plan in place to help tackle the problem and reduce the risk of further activity.

🐭 A day on the job with Jack at Wigan Pest Services!

🏠 Job 1: Mice in a kitchen, with droppings behind the microwave and a possible entry point around an external pipe.

🐭 Job 2: A follow-up visit with reduced mouse activity and an entry point sealed using galvanised wire mesh.

🔧 Job 3: Mice entering through gaps in air vents. Jack will return to fit two vent covers once activity has reduced.

🐭 Mouse Infestation – Small Gaps Can Cause Big Problems! 🏠

We recently attended a property following reports of a mouse infestation.

During our inspection, we identified a small gap around an external air brick, which mice had been using to gain direct access into the property’s cavity wall.

Despite the opening being relatively small, it was enough to allow mice to enter the building and cause problems inside.

🔎 Why is a thorough inspection important?

Simply placing traps or poison may reduce mouse activity, but unless the entry points are identified and properly sealed, the problem can continue.
