One thing I’ve realised while building these compliance systems is that most small businesses are not trying to avoid doing things properly…

They’re usually just busy.

A lot of businesses end up with:

* policies downloaded from different websites
* documents saved in random folders
* outdated templates
* systems that nobody has reviewed for years

That’s why I decided to start building practical compliance packs that are:
✔ easy to edit
✔ professionally structured
✔ realistic for SMEs to use
✔ designed to help businesses become more organised and inspection ready

Alongside the Health & Safety side, I’ve also been developing GDPR and AML systems for the property sourcing sector as well.

It’s been interesting combining:

into something practical and genuinely useful.

The problem is that many end up relying on:

📢 Investor Update – Wigan MBC Planning Changes

From 31st August 2025, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) has removed permitted development rights for the conversion of dwelling houses (C3) into small Houses in Multiple Occupation (C4).

➡️ This means that all future HMO conversions in Wigan will now require full planning permission.
➡️ Existing HMOs that are already licensed are not affected by this change.
➡️ The decision applies across the borough and is intended to give the Council greater control over the number and location of HMOs.

Investors should take this into account when assessing new opportunities in Wigan, as planning requirements will now form part of the process.
