Ridgewater Energy are thrilled to have been recognised for its commitment to responsible business, we have achieved Good Business Charter (GBC) accreditation, joining a fast-growing movement of organisations raising the standard across the UK.

At a time when headlines often focus on corporate wrongdoing, the GBC provides a way to recognise and support the organisations that prioritise doing the right thing — not only in what it delivers, but in how it operates behind the scenes.

By achieving GBC accreditation, Ridgewater Energy demonstrates its commitment to employees, customers and wider stakeholders. It means fairer working conditions, a stronger commitment to employee inclusion and wellbeing, paying fair tax and reducing its impact on the environment.

Trading Standards Approved!

Ridgewater Energy are proud to be recognised by Dorset Council as an approved provider under the trusted 'Buy With Confidence’ Trading Standards Approved Business scheme. This recognition reflects our commitment to delivering honest, high-quality services, giving residents confidence that they are choosing a fully vetted and reputable company.

We were pleased to receive our accreditation from Dorset Council Trading Standards this month, marking an important milestone for our team and reinforcing the standards we work to every day.

Based in Wimborne, Ridgewater Energy brings over 30 years of industry experience, supported by a skilled and dedicated team offering independent, expert advice on energy efficiency. We help residents access funded home improvements, including insulation, heating upgrades, and renewable energy solutions such as solar panels and air source heat pumps.

Working across Dorset and the wider BCP area - including Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Weymouth, Dorchester, and surrounding communities - we support households in reducing energy bills, improving comfort, and lowering carbon emissions.

The ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme is designed to protect communities from rogue traders through rigorous vetting and continuous monitoring. This recognition is important to us, especially given our work supporting vulnerable households. It reinforces our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and trustworthy services while helping local residents stay warm, save money, and live more sustainably.

“Thank you so much for all your advice and support. I am just at the start of my journey and today has been so helpful. Thank you!”

The ‘ Our Dorset’ ambition is for everyone to have the best possible health and care outcomes and to live healthier, longer and more fulfilling lives. We know this is only possible when unpaid carers are recognised, valued and supported.

Our NHS organisations, councils, voluntary sector organisations and community partners are working together to improve support for carers across Dorset County. Together with carers, we share a common vision (Together with Carers – A Dorset Vision – Our Dorset) to create communities where carers feel informed, connected, respected and supported. Many people do not see themselves as carers straight away. A carer is anyone who provides unpaid care or support to a family member, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their help due to illness, disability, mental ill health, addiction or older age. Carers Week helps people recognise their caring role and encourages them to seek advice, support and connection.

Carers Week 8-14 June, is an annual campaign that recognises the vital contribution unpaid carers make to families, neighbourhoods, communities and society.

Across BCP Council and Dorset Council areas, organisations are coming together to raise awareness of caring, help more people identify themselves as carers, and make sure unpaid carers can access the support they need.

This year’s national theme is:
Building Carer Friendly Communities

As a Forward Carers Carer Friendly Communities Employer, we shall be sharing and raising awareness across the week.
