Join for a free, hands-on Rainwater Garden Workshop at Buckland Road Church in Poole. 🌱💧

The workshop is the first step in a hands-on partnership event, between Ridgewater Energy, Dorset Community Energy and Wessex Community Assets, to explore how Buckland road baptist church can be retrofitted for a changing climate, from the building fabric through to its heating and energy systems. What we learn will also help support people across Poole looking to retrofit their own homes.

First Poole Military Tattoo draws big crowds to Poole Stadium:
More than 400 performers brought military music, precision displays and pageantry to Poole Stadium for the town’s first Poole Military Tattoo – Salute to the Services.

Held across two performances, the new event featured marching bands, a precision cadet drill team, gun run demonstrations and massed pipes and drums, culminating in a finale celebrating the men and women of the uniformed services.

Organisers say the response from audiences has already prompted calls for the Tattoo to return next year.

Organiser Chris Wood said: ‘We are absolutely thrilled with the response to the first Poole Military Tattoo. To bring more than 400 performers together for two shows was an incredible achievement, and seeing the audience enjoying every moment made all the hard work worthwhile.

‘We have already been asked when the next Tattoo will be. Hopefully, this is just the beginning and we can bring Salute to the Services back to Poole next year – bigger and even more spectacular.’

As well as providing two large-scale performances, the Tattoo raised awareness and funds for the Royal British Legion and supported Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.

Chris added: ‘A huge thank you goes to everyone who performed, volunteered, worked behind the scenes and supported the event.’

The inaugural event was supported by sponsors Babcock, Umbrella Bathrooms, Ridgewater Energy, Bournemouth University, Care UK and Vulcan Sound Radio.

Organisers have yet to confirm whether the Poole Military Tattoo will definitely return in 2027, but you can stay in touch and keep up to date about future announcements on the link below in the first comment 👇
