Making tax digital is happening for the self employed and landlords. But anyone with a turnover of less than £10,000 is exempt.

Found out today that there has been a HMRC error where individuals under self assessment have been issued with a duplicate unique tax reference (UTR). This has led to a lot of people receiving letters saying their tax return was not submitted and they are being fined. If you get one of these you need to ring HMRC and let them know so that the fine and duplicate record are removed.

Saw today that the cost of fraud to charities was £147.3m. So wondering how Cornish organisations feel about your financial controls. Do you think they are strong enough to make sure we don't contribute to that?
