October last year we had a planting plan and a delivery of plants. I think you will agree, that’s a great start to a day. Together with the client’s help, enthusiasm and oodles of energy, everything was planted. After lots of patience, waiting all winter, the garden started to come to life, first with spring bulbs until it reached high summer with the salvia and gaura coming into their own. Seemingly the plants are very happy and thriving in their new home 🏡

Smashing client with great vision. It’s been amazing working together to achieve this grass centric planting scheme. Grasses add fantastic texture whilst offering some transparency, allowing the eye to travel through and onto other areas of the garden. Can’t wait to see the grasses in winter, all dusted with frost! A few weeks ago I finally made it to Prospect Cottage, Dungeness! Ever since first hearing about it I was fascinated and intrigued 🤔
It’s the former home and sanctuary of artist, filmmaker and gay rights activist Derek Jarman. And wow, an outstanding gardener as well! In the most challenging of setting, surrounded by shingle, an amazing garden has been created in the most resourceful way. Driftwood as sculpture with planting perfectly selected for the conditions. I was quite literally blow away! A must visit in my opinion 👌🏻

Some hot colour combinations from RHS Hampton Court Flower Festival! It was a scorcher 🥵
Mattie Child’s Show Garden demonstrates how these hot colours can be combined creating an uplifting and joyful space. The garden highlighted the great work undertaken by the children’s charity Over the Garden Wall. The perennials in the garden were grown by . Some to try to bring at spot of Hampton into your garden include Echinacea ‘Big Kahuna’, Salvia ‘Amistad’, Achillea ‘Moonshine’ and Eryngium x zabelii ‘Big Blue’. Think you will agree it was a well earned Gold Medal and Best Show Garden 🎉

This peony really packs a punch! Coral Charm 👌🏻 Set off beautifully by the alliums! Hot tip - don’t plant peonies too deep, that’s what can inhibit flowering. Otherwise, super easy and so worth waiting for their spectacular blooms in June 🐝

This garden really caught my attention
So pleased to see it awarded a GOLD medal! Inspiration was taken from the William Morris fabrics and colours. Takes me back to my childhood when I remember the fabrics being so popular, in particular ‘Stawberry Thief’ and ‘Willow Bough’ Warm memories 🥰
