There is an ongoing listeria outbreak linked to ready-to-eat smoked fish.

Our advice to those who are over 65, pregnant, or have weakened immune systems is to thoroughly cook ready-to-eat smoked fish before they eat it.

'Ready-to-eat smoked fish’ refers to chilled smoked fish products that would not normally be cooked at home before being eaten.

Today we have launched a consultation on plans to bring clarity to the law on selling insects for human consumption.

Our proposals will allow edible insects to remain on the market while they go through the novel foods authorisation process.

We would like to hear from anyone with an interest in edible insects, particularly trade organisations and food businesses.
