When you visit Athena Wi******er, you’ll quickly realise this is not just about meetings in the diary. It’s about the way a room feels, the quality of the women in it, and how well that space is held.

That starts with me. I’m Joanne Sumner, Regional Director for Athena Wi******er. I’m a serial entrepreneur, coach, transpersonal therapist, trainer and retreat facilitator, and I’ve spent more than 20 years supporting women to grow in ways that feel meaningful, sustainable and true to who they are.

One of the things I care about most is helping women get clearer on what they want from their business and their life, and then creating the kind of environment where they can move towards it with confidence.

What I hope to bring to Athena Wi******er is warmth, discernment, encouragement, strategic thinking, collaboration and a genuine commitment to helping women flourish on their own terms.

For another, it might be support, accountability, practical know-how, referrals, confidence, friendship, or simply feeling less alone in business.

And all of those are valid.

I want to take a moment to celebrate one of our Athena Wi******er members, 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵.

Soph is a 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗻, and earlier this month she was recognised at the 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 for her work supporting women through emotional burnout, people-pleasing and what she calls 'Good Girl' conditioning.

Soph helps them understand the patterns that once protected them. The behaviours that helped them survive. The ways they learned to keep the peace, stay small, please others and push through. Soph calls these Protection Codes.

At the heart of her practice is safety. Nervous system support. Belief work. Astrology. And the very human process of helping women come back to themselves underneath survival mode.

This is what I love about Athena. We are surrounded by women building businesses from real life, real wisdom and deep courage. Not polished perfection. Something much more powerful than that.
