My biggest takeaway from Day 1 at the Human X Summit at EHL Lausanne?
The future of hospitality is not about replacing humans with technology.
It is about using technology to help us become MORE human. 🌍✨
Today stretched my thinking in so many ways.
From AI, human intelligence, emotional connection, wellbeing, leadership, hospitality design, future-ready workforces, and immersive experiences… every session reinforced one thing:
Human connection will always matter most.
Some of my biggest reflections from today:
💡 AI should free us to focus on empathy, creativity, relationships, care, and meaningful experiences.
💡 Hospitality is no longer just about service - it is about emotion, belonging, wellbeing, memory-making, and human transformation.
💡 The organisations that thrive in the future will be those brave enough to challenge old thinking, adapt quickly, and put people at the centre of every decision.
💡 We must design experiences that create AWE, connection, and emotional impact - because people may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
💡 Human intelligence, emotional intelligence, collaboration, curiosity, adaptability, and creativity are becoming more valuable than ever before.
💡 The future leaders of hospitality and business must learn to combine humanity + AI rather than fear it.
One quote and thought that really stayed with me today:
“Technology extends and overcomes our limits - but human connection gives it meaning.”
There were so many powerful conversations around:
* Designing for human experience
* Wellbeing as a business imperative
* Future-ready leadership
* Human-centred innovation
* AI literacy and adaptability
* Learning cultures
* Hospitality as a force for impact
* Nature, emotion, and experience design
* Building organisations people actually want to belong to
I filled pages and pages of notes, ideas, actions, collaborations, and reflections today - the kind of learning that shifts your mindset, not just your knowledge.
And what an incredible environment to do it in… EHL Lausanne truly is world-class. The setting, the people, the atmosphere, and the quality of discussion have been exceptional.
Grateful for every conversation.
Grateful for every lesson.
Grateful for every new connection.
And incredibly excited about what this means for the future of hospitality, leadership, training, and immersive learning.
Day 2 starts now… 🚀
