What if every design and print order you placed could make a difference?

At NMC Design+Print, it can.

Every time you work with us, your spend helps support the NeuroMuscular Centre and vital services for people affected by neuromuscular conditions.

So you get great graphic design and professional printing — while helping create positive change.

As we approach International Day of Charity on the 5th of September, it’s a reminder that making a difference doesn’t always mean doing something extraordinary.

Sometimes, it’s simply about choosing who you work with.

Great design. Professional print. Positive impact.

That’s something we’re proud to be part of. 💜

Our team members are multi-talented!

Amy is a trained photographer as well as a graphic designer 📷

She can take fantastic photos, edit them, and then use them to create great layouts for all kinds of documents… or share them with other members of the team for a truly collaborative approach.

Recently, she's been busy taking photos of all the staff members at NMC for a new graphic design project.

🧘🏻‍♂️ It's been great having someone we know and trust operating the camera - it puts even the most camera shy team members completely at ease.

But, there's no hiding behind the camera in our office - I whipped out my phone to get a few shots of Amy in action 👇🏻

Last week, we designed a brand-new leaflet for a long-time customer.

He was absolutely thrilled with the final version and asked us to print 20,000 copies to support a new campaign.

When he saw the first hard copy, he said it was exactly what he'd been hoping for — and he couldn't wait to share them.

This week, those leaflets are being sent all across the county.

And that makes me really proud of the team here.

Because what we do isn't just about designing something that looks good or putting ink on paper. It's about using our experience and expertise to help our customers communicate what matters to them — and giving their ideas the professional finish they deserve.

Our customers have the fantastic ideas, sensational services and brilliant products.

We get to help them shout about them.

And sometimes, that means taking a great idea and turning it into something that will be seen by 20,000 people.

In this case, our design is helping our customer share his passion for our region and its history, and hopefully inspire more people to discover and understand the heritage we all share.

That's the bit I love.

Seeing something we've created together leave the studio and go out into the world.

Here's to the next 20,000.

Trust.

It’s the underlying currency of all good working relationships.

Trust between us and our suppliers.

Trust between colleagues, partners, volunteers and collaborators.

Trust in our referral network, and in the people we turn to for advice.

And, most importantly, trust between us and our customers.

✨ Trust is what keeps people coming back.
✨ It’s why they recommend you.
✨ And it’s what allows you to become a valued source of information, support and expertise.

Being trusted as a regular supplier to any organisation, big or small, means a lot to our team. It’s something we value, and something we work hard to live up to.

Especially when you’re trusted with something as important as a rebrand. You’re not just being asked to create something new - a customer is placing their reputation in your hands.

Recently, Gary Jones from Chester DriveAbility summed this up beautifully:

“Taking on a rebrand of our service represented an important milestone in the development of Chester DriveAbility and required us to work with a trusted partner.”

Being trusted feels great.

But it doesn’t magically appear. It’s built through open, genuine communication, doing what you say you’ll do, and positive collaboration.

And it’s a two-way street. Something that we’ll never take for granted.

📷👽 (Trust is also letting your teammate swing a light saber round very close to your face in the name of team bonding and a fun photo).

Last weekend, our Senior Designer’s dad launched himself out of a plane in aid of NeuroMuscular Centre (NMC).

To us, this story is extra special because it's not just about a thrill seeker doing something mad for charity…

♥️ It's about a dad that loves his son, and values the charity that supports their family.

Jake has a rare condition, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy… But, he doesn't let it hold him back. With a little bit of help from NMC, he takes every opportunity that life (and work) presents, and is always striving to learn more, to grow as a person, and to keep innovating as a graphic designer.

We know that Mark is incredibly proud - deservedly so - and he likes to model that positive, can-do attitude in his own approach to life too. So, it came as little surprise when he decided to accept this new (and crazy) challenge!

Between saying yes and taking the plunge, he broke his leg and temporarily experienced some of the challenges that Jake faces on a daily basis.

Perhaps that gave him more determination… It definitely makes it all the more impressive that he didn't back out.

We're suckers for a fantastic dad moment - and we don't think we're the only ones. So, we hope you'll all join us in giving Mark a massive round of applause 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

🪂 There's still time to donate if you can afford to - you can find the link in the comments - but if you can't, just take in the good vibes and celebrate with us.

Meet our new volunteer, David

After being diagnosed with MS, David decided it was time for a new career path; one that was less physical, would be sustainable long term, allow him to manage his health effectively, and allow him to pursue his passion for graphic design.

Now nearing the end of his degree, David joined us to gain valuable real-world experience and build his confidence by working on live projects for real clients.

David explains, "Getting closer to finishing my graphic design degree, I wanted to gain some real-world experience to carry through into a career. As a person with MS, I found out about the NMC through the Warrington Disability Partnership and was determined for this to be the place to gain experience."

After his first month with us, David says, "I have felt very welcomed by everyone and have enjoyed being given a project that I can work on from start to finish."

We're delighted to have David on the team and look forward to supporting him as he takes the next step in his creative career. Welcome, David!

Together, we make a difference.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿?

When we're interviewing potential designers, we're not just interested in qualifications.

We're looking for:

📓 A strong 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 that demonstrates process as well as successful finished pieces.

🖥️ Proficiency with 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲

💭 Ability to thoroughly investigate and 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳… and deliver on it.

📑 Examples of how you've handled both positive and challenging 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

👥 Examples of your ability to receive and incorporate 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 from customers or colleagues.

As a brand new designer, these things can be hard to demonstrate. But, work placements and internships can be a great way to start building these skills and experiences.

So, 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗶 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻, 𝗥𝗼𝗯.

Award-Winning Talent: Congratulations, Jake!

Our Senior Designer, Jake, has been named the winner of the Rising Star Award at the Kaleidoscope Awards!

Hosted by StoryhouseLive in Chester, the Kaleidoscope Awards celebrate the talents and achievements of people with disabilities from across Chester, Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales.

The Rising Star Award honours an individual who has demonstrated growth within their area of employment. Chosen from many nominees from across the region, Jake was recognised not only for his development in the graphic design industry, but also for his dedication to advocating for and supporting other creatives with disabilities.

Jake says, ‘I'm so grateful to receive this Kaleidoscope Rising Star award. To see my value and progress over the years being recognised makes me feel incredibly proud of my achievements. This would not be possible without my team leaders at NMC who saw my ability and potential all those years ago. Thanks to Storyhouse and to those that nominated me.’

Congratulations, Jake – this achievement is thoroughly deserved, and we’re excited to see where your creativity and ambition take you next!
