I posted this yesterday as I get immense satisfaction when I can help clients but, I also appreciate it when client's appreciate the job I have done and rather than wait until the due date on my invoice, they pay within 5 minutes of receiving it. Not only that, they then (in there own words) sing my praises to others and pass on my contact details.

It's the very reason I never say any job is too small (or big for that matter) as you don't know who the client is connected to and what work might come further down the line.

After what has been an incredibly quite few months, I am delighted to have collected a debt that has been outstanding from November 2025. The client had been chasing payment and getting nowhere, he spoke to a mutual contact who suggested he get in contact with me.

Within 1 hour of me contacting the debtor, they paid the client direct. No chance of me holding client's money or like some others in the industry, taking the money and disappearing with it. Clients know I will always insist debtors pay them directly and therefore there money is not at risk when the debt is paid.

Frustratingly for the client, it's apparent that the debtor had the funds and simply decided to use my client as a means to improve their cash flow. It would appear that given the debtor had a winding up petition issued against them and court judgments (decrees) that they make a habit of using suppliers to improve their cash flow position.

Thankfully, no need for my client to resort to court action and / or winding up petitions.

Today's recommendation / feedback of the day. I hope that one word that all clients and suppliers would say. "honesty". One word that means so much and especially in my industry which seems to have it's fair share of rouges.

“Need to thank Jim Sleith who has helped me track someone who owes me a few grand, it turns out this person is now in JAIL – he did all the work on a no win no fee basis. Also, on top – he is now helping me chase some people have sold me illegal Data.

One quick word of advice – be careful who you trust and ALWAYS take down full details and phone numbers, full names of all clients.

"JMS Credit Consultancy recently undertook a review of our client agreement and terms of business, they made various recommendations to tighten up on payment clauses and spent some considerable time making the recommended changes.

We have since implemented the changes and anticipate they will help reduce late payment and add profit to our group of companies.
