💙💛 Thank you, Mighty Me families! 💛💙

What a busy and rewarding summer it has been! ☀️

I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to every family who has trusted me to support your child over the summer.

From tutoring and learning support to confidence building, SEMH support and school readiness, I’ve had the absolute privilege of working with some amazing children. 💛

And the breakthroughs have been incredible. ✨

I’ve seen children grow in confidence, overcome worries, make progress with their learning and develop new skills and most importantly, I’ve seen lots of happy, proud children getting ready to head back to school feeling more confident and prepared. 🥹💙

Thank you for trusting me with something so important — your child.

I’m so proud of every single one of them and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things they achieve this year! 🌟

Here’s to a happy, confident and successful new school year! 💙💛

Starting primary school is a BIG milestone — and it’s completely normal for children (and parents!) to have a few wobbles along the way. 🎒💛

As an experienced Teacher, Assistant Headteacher and Life Coach, I’ve seen first-hand how much of a difference the right preparation can make when children are getting ready to start primary school.

Here are 4 simple things you can start doing now to help your child feel more confident:

1️⃣ Create a goodbye ritual
Keep it simple and predictable — a special phrase, hug, high-five or little routine you do every time. Practise it at home so it feels familiar when you reach the school gate.

2️⃣ Give them a little reminder of you
A tiny token in their pocket, a heart drawn on their hand or a special phrase you share can help them feel connected even when you’re apart.

3️⃣ Talk about worries openly
You don’t need to make worries disappear. Try:
“It’s okay to feel nervous. We can talk about it and work out what might help.”

4️⃣ Build independence through everyday moments
Practise things like putting on their coat, opening their lunch, managing their belongings and asking for help. These small skills can give children a real boost in confidence and school readiness.

And remember…

Your child doesn’t need to feel 100% confident before they start.
They need to know they can have a go, ask for help and try again. 🌟

That’s exactly why I created my Starting Primary School with Confidence ebook — to give parents practical, reassuring ideas to help their child prepare for the transition to school and feel more confident along the way.

The return to primary school after the summer holidays can feel like a BIG transition for children. 🎒💛

Even children who usually love school can feel nervous about getting back into routines, seeing friends, meeting their new teacher or simply leaving the comfort of home again.

Here are 3 simple things you can do before the first day:

✨ Talk about school positively but avoid putting pressure on them to feel excited. Let them know it’s okay to feel nervous too.

🕰️ Start gently bringing routines back, gradually move bedtime, wake-up time and morning routines closer to the school routine.

💬 Talk through what the first day might look like, who will take them, what they’ll do when they arrive and who they can go to if they need help.

And remember… you don’t need to make them feel zero anxiety. You’re helping them feel that they can handle the feelings when they come. 💛

Save this and share it with a parent preparing their child for the return to primary school. 💛
