From Overwhelmed to Clear
A client I worked with recently felt like they were constantly playing catch-up.

Are your employee records detailed and up to date?

One important change under the Employment Rights Act 2025 is the new requirement for employers to keep detailed records of employees’ annual leave and pay, employers must record:
- holiday taken
- holiday carried over from previous years
- holiday pay
- any payments in lieu of holiday (for example, pay for unused holiday when someone leaves a job)

Records can be stored in any format (digital or paper) and they must be retained for at least 6 years. This applies to all employees and workers, including those with irregular hours or part-time contracts.

Don't get caught out! The new Fair Work Agency will have the power to investigate breaches and impose penalties.

We just had a replacement pop-top fitted to our campervan!

The old one had a few… holes. Not huge, but enough to make things a little tricky - leaks, space for insects to invade, and the constant reminder that something wasn’t quite right and looked a little worse for wear.

Watching the new top go up, it struck me how much smoother everything feels when the foundations are solid. Space works better. Things flow. And there’s one less thing to worry about. The workmanship of Beardy Man Van's & Conversions ltd was incredible (love the name and it’s very apt!), the attention to detail and going above and beyond to get it right and perfecting things he came across during the fit.

In business, even if you outsource tasks or have support, it’s still important to know how all the parts work and make sure the systems underneath are working properly and are not a little worse for wear. A little maintenance and attention at the right points can make the day-to-day feel so much lighter.
