This week’s bends the rules a little—we’re diving into the zombie survival game ‘7 Days to Die’.

In the game, survival isn’t just about fighting off hordes—it’s about learning. Players pick up ‘perk books’ like ‘Wiring 101’, ‘Tech Junkie’, ‘Ranger’s Guide to Archery’, and the classic ‘Art of Mining’. Each one unlocks new skills, recipes, or ways to use items—and yes, I’ve definitely argued with friends over who gets which book in matches.

For showing technical manuals as powerful survival tools (even in a zombie apocalypse), we’re giving ‘7 Days to Die’ a solid 8/10.

Danny, our Marketing Manager, continues to bring creativity and fresh ideas. Joanna supports several teams across the business and helps keep communication and daily operations running smoothly behind the scenes. Michał, as a Technical Communication Team Leader, has played an important role in leading projects and supporting his team through some complex and rewarding work.

This week’s pick is the Canadian horror film ‘Pontypool’, takes the idea of a ‘deadly language’ quite literally.

Imagine being trapped in a radio station during a heavy snowstorm, only to realise a full-blown zombie apocalypse is happening outside. Our protagonists — led by the ever-charismatic shock jock Grant Mazzy — receive a broadcast in French. They translate it into English, only to discover the final line is a sinister warning: ‘Do not translate this message.’

We give this a firm 0/10 for putting the vital warning after the bit that causes the problem. Classic horror logic.

Q gives him a detailed technical manual, but Bond skips straight to testing the front-mounted guns and auto-targeting system.
‘I wish I could make you vanish!’ Q mutters, clearly exasperated — and honestly, after seeing Bond’s approach to the manual, we can’t blame him!
