I am a bright and bubbly Registered Childminder, Makaton Tutor and Makaton Signing for Babies Trainer, based in Tidworth who is very pleased and proud to have obtained two gradings of Outstanding from O
fsted when registered in Salisbury. I have childcare qualifications up to and including a degree, which I obtained whilst working full time as a nursery supervisor. I am also a member of Pacey (formally known as the National Childminding Association (N.C.M.A.) and hold an enhanced DBS check and Paediatric first aid training. I am a fun loving individual with many years (over 14!) of childcare experience. Children are my main passion in life and my aim is to work in partnership with their parents to make their childhood as happy and memorable as possible, in a loving, caring and homely environment. I provide stimulating and fun activities for your child that are always planned to their individual needs and are appropriate to their age and stage of development. I follow the EYFS which is the same curriculum your child would follow at a nursery but in a comfy, cosy and homely environment. I provide a huge and varied amount of toys and activities for the children which they are able to choose from themselves. Including: small world play, construction, role play, singing, dancing, cooking, arts and crafts, ICT, storytimes, music times, letters and sounds and much more! I have lots of equipment and resources for babies right from birth and I have a wealth of experience in caring for them. I am kind, caring and nurturing and never have more than 3 children at a time under 5 in my home making it as calming,yet stimualting ,an environment as possible for even the youngest of children :-)
We spend lots of time exploring the outdoors and often go on outdoor trips so your child/children will get lots of fresh air and outdoor play in all weathers (unless I deem conditions dangerous). We also go on many other outings, chosen by the children, including soft play areas, farms, libraries, music groups etc. The children help to care for our rabbit (Peter) daily and try their hands at a spot of gardening or planting regularly too. I believe that creating a strong link with parents is vital and I offer many opportunities for this in my setting. I keep parents well informed of their child's enjoyment and development at all times and use Learning Journals as a way of monitoring this. The children all help to create their learning journals and often enjoy looking back at them and re-calling things that they have done in the past. I offer healthy food and snacks as well as the parent's choice of formula for bottle fed babies. I am a strong believer in the effectiveness of the Makaton Language Programme and have completed all levels of training for using this with the children. We sign throughout the day and use the symbols in our displays, stories and singing times. I am also a licensed Makaton Tutor and Signing for Babies Trainer.
