Procurement International is a leading, award-winning specialist supplier of quality premium products, online rewards and scheme management systems to the reward, motivation and loyalty sector in the UK and Internationally.

You will play a huge role within the team. Working alongside the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring we plan and deliver the most commercial, desirable, and profitable ranges to meet our client’s needs.

You will work with new and existing household brands and suppliers, identifying trends and shaping the future of our ranges.

We are looking for candidates with prior buying experience who can come in and make their mark straight away.

This role would suit someone who is already an established confident Assistant Buyer looking for a new challenge with high levels of responsibility and autonomy.

Assistant Buyer

Duties & Responsibilities,

Key Functions
· Manage supplier performance, identifying potential new suppliers and building long-term supplier relationships
· Negotiating supplier costs, terms and agreements improving the trading position
· Research and source new suppliers and brands. Attending trade shows and making recommendations to the Purchasing Manager
· Conducting Range Reviews
· Ensuring efficient support is provided to both internal and external teams relating to your products and suppliers
· Understanding customer needs, markets trends and competitor activity
· Reviewing (with support) our existing suppliers and their performance
· Working with suppliers and the buying team to ensure product data quality is achieved and maintained imagery managed
· Working with buying team, ensuring new products and suppliers are set up accurately and on time Provide input on ranging, forecasting and ordering Support the Buying Assistant and team in managing the price changes and process for the business Ensuring support is provided to all internal teams relating to your suppliers, brands, product and categories Sourcing promotional lines for our customers

Experience & Training
· Previous buying experience essential, preferably from a retail background
· A passion for product, balanced with understanding the need for commercial acumen
· Strong analytical and numerical skills
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organisational and admin ability, along with knowledge of word and excel
· Negotiation skills and practices for UK suppliers
· Knowledgeable in market trends
· Ability to demonstrate problem solving and provide resolution in a fast paced environment

· Strong Communication and relationship building skills to both internal and external stakeholders

The purpose of the role is to place good quality purchase orders with suppliers in a prompt and efficient manner. You'll assist the purchasing team with all aspects of administration and reporting in addition to providing support to internal teams. This is a full time role and we are working towards a hybrid working environment.

Purchasing Administrator Duties & Responsibilities,
Key Functions
Managing the purchase order process for the company within a timely manner
Maintain purchase order accuracy (supplier, quantities, availability, pricing, shipping etc) and system data accuracy to enable the effectiveness of systems and processes
Work with Finance to resolve any invoicing issues and taking responsibility for resolution with suppliers
Being the key point of contact for the team regarding PO raising and sending
Run weekly and daily reports to track key functional metrics regarding demand planning and back orders to reduce expenses and improve efficiencies
You will also provide cover for other administrative roles within the team as and when required, so will have the opportunity to learn other roles within the team
Purchasing Administrator Experience & Training
Purchasing Administration, Order Management, Supply Chain, processing experience
Role requires someone who is competent with IT and can pick up new systems quickly
Experience using planning tools or similar business software, MS Navision/Dynamics preferred
Strong Excel experience
Data analysis
Understanding of supply chain management procedures preferred
Purchasing Administrator Personal Attributes, Qualities & Competencies
Strong communication skills, teamwork and relationship building skills, and good attention to detail
Superior organisational skills
