Celebrating Volunteers' Week 2026

The 1st–7th June marks Volunteers' Week, a national campaign dedicated to recognising the incredible impact volunteers have on our communities 🌍

At Scott Bader, we're proud to support our colleagues by providing one day of paid volunteering leave each year, enabling them to give back to causes that matter to them.

Over the years, our teams have contributed to a wide range of community initiatives, including:
• Serving meals to those in need
• Participating in local litter-picking projects
• Renovating garden spaces for hospitals and community organisations
• Supporting blood donation drives

Volunteering reflects our commitment to doing business differently, creating positive change, strengthening local communities and making a meaningful difference beyond the workplace.

Last week, colleagues from the Global Members' Board spent their volunteering day at the Scott Bader Head Office in Wollaston, helping to make our outdoor spaces even more welcoming for everyone 🌿

The team spent the day de-weeding plant beds, tidying pathways and clearing the pond for the resident fish — all contributing to creating a lovely environment for colleagues to enjoy during breaks and time spent outside.

Thank you to everyone who got involved and gave their time and energy to support our shared spaces. It’s fantastic to see teamwork making a visible difference across our site ☀️ 🌷

Today we are proud to celebrate 75 years of the Scott Bader Commonwealth 🎈

"The formation of the Commonwealth was in order to raise employees to the status of responsible owners."

"Exploring, venturing, daring in challenging situations, was the spice of my life. Perhaps it had something to do with my mother often saying,

"Ernstel, Ernstel, denke dran was aus Dir noch warden Kann" (think of what may yet become of you)."

"I was delighted to find agreement for my intentions by my family partners and we all signed away the ownership in our business to share it in common ownership with those of our staff who understood and who agreed with the terms of our new revolutionary Constitution. So at last we arrived at the inauguration of the Commonwealth on the 23rd April 1951, one of the happiest days of my life!"

Through the Commonwealth, Scott Bader recently donated funding to Intakemazolo Combined School in Hammarsdale, helping provide new computers for students.

The donation was also celebrated alongside a major milestone for the school, the launch of its very first Matric class 🎓

In December, colleagues from Scott Bader India spent a meaningful day volunteering at the Annada centre in Shahapur Taluka for the Mother & Child Health & Nutrition Project 🤝

The visit gave our team the chance to step into the community, connect directly with beneficiaries and build meaningful relationships with the team. One of the highlights of the day was taking part in a lively health & nutrition session, where learning about healthy eating became fun and interactive through a simple game that everyone enjoyed 🥗

After the session, the team visited homes in the community for a better understanding of everyday challenges. During these visits, they also met with the AWW/H and the ICDS Supervisor, whose feedback on the Mother & Child Health & Nutrition Project was invaluable.

The Scott Bader Commonwealth has also donated £6k, which alongside other donations, has contributed to over 70,000 meals being provided to those in need 💛

The day was filled with learning, shared smiles and a strong sense of purpose, reminding us of the positive difference we can make when we work together 🫶
