Jeff Claydon was delighted to be presented with the 2023 Peewit Award for Excellence in Ecological Farming last night by the Suffolk Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group.

Claydon was among those awarded at the annual event organised by Suffolk FWAG, celebrating exceptional approaches to sustainable farming.

The event takes place on Wednesday 28 February, at the Market Hall in Saxmundham. Titled ‘Regenerating Food Systems and Natural Capital – a forum on food and farming’, the event will explore the benefits of a regenerative food production system that nourishes people whilst bringing net positive benefits for natural capital, and examine the barriers to change.

Anna Beames, Chief Executive of Suffolk FWAG will be joined for the event by fellow guest speaker John Pawsey of Suffolk-based Shimpling Park Farms. There will also be an interactive workshop session to enable the audience to participate in a discussion around this important topic.

Half of team FWAG had a great time working with many local councils, key stakeholders, Woodbridge climate action group and many others! All in aid of coming together to set a roadway for a better future for both us and our environment! Great day with great people! We can’t wait to continue this project in the future

Meet Andy Brenchley - our new
Environmental Livestock Advisor 🐖🐏🐄🐓

Having grown up on the Suffolk coast and finding a passion for the working countryside, Andy began by creating his own herd of rare breed pigs, going on to claim many prizes such as “Best Suffolk Breeder” at the 2014 Suffolk Show. Graduating from Aberystwyth University in 2018 with honours and returned to Suffolk where he turned his hand to sheep and cattle farming where he managed a prolific herd of red poll for 3 years.

Andy has co-founded MIC Animal Services - a Parasite Diagnostics Lab who strive to improve the UKs Herd and Flocks health by adapting new technologies and methods to promote a more sustainable way of livestock farming. Andy joined Suffolk FWAG in 2023 to develop the role of livestock in the future of Regenerative Agriculture.

In his spare time Andy can be found, making gemstone jewellery, Rock Climbing and exploring the countryside with his welsh collie, Kobe🐾
