🤳Are you always on?

📵One of the biggest challenges of having your own business is knowing when to switch off.

💁‍♀️Working in a 9-5 there are clear boundaries as to when you need to be on and off.

⏰Do you set boundaries in your own business?

Here are my top five tips to regain control…

✅ Remove the distractions from your work week, clean up your inbox marking junk mail so that only the important stuff comes through.

✅Learn to say no- it’s something most people struggle to do but saying no is so important. Think about your time as if you were an employer paying for it. Would your employer mind you doing that free favour for your friend?

✅ Be realistic, don’t set yourself up to fail by writing an unachievable list. It’s always better to put less on the list and finish early that feel the disappointment when you have into ticked off half the list.

✅ Start planning your time, allocate family time when you switch off your phone. Tell your family this is when you are going to spend quality time with them.

✅Use time blocking to group similar tasks so you become more efficient in your week. Start forward planning, allocate different days of the week for specific tasks and see much more efficient you become when you are doing all of your sales calls together rather than jumping from task to task.

⏰Have you taken the time to really analyse ..

✅who your ideal customers are
✅where they hang out
✅what their challenges are?

🤷‍♀️If you don’t understand their challenges and more importantly the pain that these challenges cause, you will never get your messaging right!

💁‍♀️Think about it, if you are struggling to carry your laptop but hate the idea of either squishing it into an impractical handbag that will weigh down your shoulder and someone tried to sell you a practical but ugly bag would you buy it?

❌No …It would not be solving all of your pain points. It wouldn’t be beautiful and stylish.

✅However if they offered you a bag made specifically to fit a laptop inside with stylish straps that also dispersed the weight of the bag leaving you looking stylish and elegant would you be interested?

👜Yes … they would be selling you the solution to your pain points!

✨One of the biggest lessons I have learned so far✨

⚠️You just have to stop giving a sh*t what everyone else thinks!

⏰Setting myself the reel a day challenge on Instagram meant that some days I just haven’t had time to record a reel 16 times to get it, or myself perfect.

💡In fact the most successful videos are the ones I have done in 15 mins and gone with the first take!

🙋‍♀️Someone said to me yesterday ‘ it is so nice to see someone normal having a go at the reel a day challenge on Instagram.’

⛔️I’m here to tell you, stop caring what everyone else thinks, because the sooner you do, the sooner you or business will begin to flourish!

🚀So go live, make a reel or show your face on camera- it really will sky rocket your engagement !

💄For years I thought self care was all about massages and beauty treatments....

🩹I didn’t realise I was really just putting a plaster on the wound and not fixing the real issue...

😩I needed to get to the route cause of my stress and that meant looking deeper.

🧑‍⚖️I had to learn to set boundaries in my life and learn to stick to them.

💪I had to learn to stand up for myself and for what I believed in ... and not allow others to push me around.

Self-reflection is one of the most important skills of any business owner. The sign of a great leader is one who reflects and recognises when they could have done things differently.

Getting things wrong in business is so important as it is how you learn...
... but only if you take the time to reflect on what went wrong and how to avoid it next time.

Often people think you need a team around you to be a leader but just the very nature of running your own business means you have to lead the way.

Sometimes we forget how far we have come with our own personal development. A difficult decision 12 months ago needs very little though and consideration now.

Things that stressed us when we first set up, no longer make us flap.

Learning comes when we put ourselves in an uncomfortable position where we don’t know all the answers and we challenge ourself.

So make sure that you keep challenging yourself in business, seek out uncomfortable situations that challenge you and you will be amazed at how quickly you will grow.

That is consistency to...

✅ keep going when all their ideas are failing

✅ perform the daily rituals needed to grow their business

✅ perform the daily rituals needed to develop themselves

Consistency is all about working out which are the needle movers in your business focusing your time and energy on them each day.

Being an entrepreneur is all about forming habits whether that be how you manage your social media strategy when you post or how you juggle everything outside of the business.

Work out what works for you and then rinse and repeat.

How many times have you got caught in the social media bubble of ‘comparisonitus’?

Seeing someone who clearly has less experience than you absolutely killing it on so I’ll media.....🤨

How can they have that many followers?

How can they sell their offer at that price?

All because of one thing.....

Whilst you sit around contemplating their offer, they are taking action trying something new.

Taking action, even the wrong action, leads us step closer to where we want to be...

Taking NO action gets us nowhere!

In fact constant comparisons to others and hours spent scrolling insta stalking, sends us backwards.

It knocks our confidence and leaves us with self doubt.

So rather than sitting scrolling do one thing today to help your future self.

Just remember we are not searching for perfection. No one ever succeeded without first failing... failing is part of your learning and part of your journey- embrace it!
