Do you remember the drains that had the outlet pipe at the top, meaning that the baskets were sat in dirty smelly water that wasn’t draining or exchanging quickly enough?

We’ve tested the solution to the problem, by using a drain b**g fitted just to the bottom of the outlet pipe and leaving the water running to test that a shallower hole can still handle the water flow. Which I’m pleased to say works!

We’re going to fill these deep drain holes in with concrete to the bottom of the outlet pipe and use a shallower basket to catch debris.

This means no more stagnant, smelly water breeding pathogen in the environment 🤢🦠 healthier horses and no compromise on drainage!

British Equestrian, the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) and the Equine Infectious Disease Advisory Group are recommending that horses travelling to Europe are vaccinated against West Nile Virus.

Why? Because it’s getting closer to home.

This mosquito-borne disease is spreading across Europe, with equine cases now reported in northern France, including areas close to the English Channel.

West Nile Virus can attack a horse’s brain and spinal cord, causing serious neurological disease and, in severe cases, death.

Do you know anyone travelling to Europe to compete, train or purchase horses?

If so, please help us spread the word.

Speak to your vet about West Nile Virus vaccination BEFORE travelling.

The initial vaccination course takes up to 6 weeks, so planning ahead is essential.

Teeton Valley Stables are completely off grid with their electric, but that doesn’t mean compromising, they have solar arena lighting by litemyride.

Porus surfaces like breeze blocks absorb moisture and organic matter, creating the perfect breeding ground for pathogens, increasing the pathogen load in your horses environment.

They are also really hard to clean, you have to push water into them with a pressure washer to get the dirt out, which actually makes the holes in the blocks even bigger!

By painting them you not only seal the blocks, preventing more damp, dirt and pathogens from building up inside. You have now created a surface that is much easier to clean and disinfect with our EndoSan disinfectant.
