Do you believe in signs?

It's been a busy few weeks for me giving talks at events on how to use your values as your secret weapon when it comes to dealing with conflict, stress and the anxiety that often follows...

All things I wish I'd known a few years ago when I was fighting to keep my head above water in a toxic workplace.

When I was trying to cope with the conflict all around me, as well as the conflict raging in my head about what to do next.

Do you know that feeling?

It's funny, because I sometimes forget that's where The Values Fingerprint® came from... how my mission to help people cope with toxic environments and colleagues all started after surviving my own experience of it.

But then I always get a sign.

A reminder that there are still too many people struggling at the hands of toxic leaders and colleagues who bully.

Who need help too.

And those signs have been everywhere recently - in the many conversations I've had at those events.

With the senior manager taking early retirement to get away from the bullies at work.

Or the high-achieving Mum with ADHD who keeps pushing herself too hard to prove she's good enough.

Or the university lecturer who was forced to work after a sudden bereavement and didn't know how to say no.

These are the people I can help to turn everything around.

And that's why I keep finding ways to speak to those high-achieving women who are secretly crumbling inside... exhausted at trying to quiet the never-ending conversation in their head.

And find the confidence to stand up for who they are and what they need to thrive.

So I'd like to put a call out to my network: I want to get my message out there even more, and show purpose-driven businesses and organisations that it's SO much simpler than you think to support your leaders, managers and teams.

Do you have speaking slots available? Do you have forums or away-days that need something a bit different? To put a new slant on how to tap into our values to build resilience and true wellbeing?

Comment below or send a DM if what I've talked about is of interest. 🙏
Or if this feels like a sign to address these things for yourself, that's all good too 😊

It never feels like the right time to stop, does it?

Life is so busy that even when we do book in that little trip, or the annual holiday, or even a catch up with a friend you really want to see - it can feel like we’re just not ‘ready’ to go.

Not ready to relax, to recharge, to switch off from the everyday stresses that build up over time.

This was me last week.

I’d booked onto a 4-day retreat that I’d already experienced last year and was guaranteed to be amazing.

But when it came to it, I was so busy with work, with sorting my son’s holiday insurance 🙄, with a stack of dreaded house admin as well as trying to keep my daughter calm for her first A-level exam 😅 - that I felt too stressed to stop.

And there it was.

The big red flag, waving at me to take a breath. 🚩

And just stop.

So with a deep breath and lots of gratitude for being clever enough to book this a year ago, I packed my yoga pants and set off.

And oh boy, am I glad.

One week later and I’m still floating from that wonderful few days in the Welsh countryside with a group of gorgeous women who are building businesses with meaning.

I’m more motivated. More grounded. More focussed. Happier. Less achy and tired. And nicer to everyone! 😉

I reconnected with my own core values and nourished them until they were overflowing (more on that later).

So why am I telling you all this? Honestly, it’s not to show off or try to sell you a ticket to a retreat!

It’s to say please don’t ignore those red flags, however small they seem:

The constant backache.
The tension headaches.
The IBS flare-up.
The tears that always seem to appear too easily.
The brain fog because you’re overwhelmed.

These are all part of our clever body’s warning system that cortisol is running high and we need to counteract it.

So do whatever your 'thing' is to take a break even when you think there’s no time.

There is always time for that.

If you know anyone who may be looking for Graduation gifts... this is something a little different 😃

Children grow up fast!

I don’t know about you, but my “baby” 18-year-old is in the middle of A-Level season and then that’s it. She’s ready to spread her wings and fly and I couldn’t be more proud and happy for her.

And I also couldn’t be more sad and anxious - ‘sanxious’ (yes, I just invented a new word) at the thought of her leaving the nest and stepping out into the world. 🥺

I can’t be everywhere to protect and support her.

So what can I do?

What can WE do as parents and carers?

Well, as we celebrate these huge milestones with them - graduation from school, college or university - what if we could give them a gift that will last them a lifetime?

You can give them money for a car, or to travel. You can set up insurance policies, or pay for a holiday with their friends, maybe open a savings account or pay off their debts to give them a fresh start…

All amazing gifts.

But what if you could give them something we didn’t have at that age?

Something priceless that lasts forever? Something that they can rely on in difficult situations or when tough decisions have to be made?

A personal roadmap, a guide, a compass for knowing what they need and want and what’s important to them, even when they don’t realise it.

What is this gift for life?

Their very own Values Fingerprint™.

By uncovering their own unique set of five core values, they will create their unique Values Fingerprint™.

It will help them decide on their next steps with clarity and assurance.

It will guide them in choosing the right career path for them, based on what suits their whole self and not just the subjects they’ve studied.

It will give them certainty and confidence in who they are, what they will tolerate from the people and situations around them and what’s meant for them, rather than accidentally falling into what’s not right for them at all.

And the added bonus? The ripple effect of them understanding their own core values will impact all those around them, shaping them into the best future leader they can be.

The value is infinite, and the investment is only £500.

If you’d like to give something a little different to your child, godchild, niece or nephew… then send me a message and I’ll get the details to you. 😊

Values in action. No red shoes required.

Pope Francis stepped out onto the balcony in plain white robes, wearing simple black shoes and a silver cross. No gold. No grandeur. Just humility.

It wasn’t a performance.

It was a reflection of who he is - and has always been.

From his early days in Argentina, Francis lived his values.

And when I rewatched The Two Popes this week, I saw something I see in my clients all the time:

> Real change starts when we lead from the inside out.
> When we stop performing and start living our truth.

In my group coaching program, Empowerful You, we uncover your personal Values Fingerprint® - so you can lead, live, and decide with certainty and quiet confidence.

If you’re at a crossroads and something in you is saying, “There has to be a better way”… this might be it.

- We start May 13th

One thing I found hard as a leader was managing potential conflict with people who were older than me.

Even though I knew I was right to call something out, I would feel sick and hot and my throat would close up because I also knew the other person would be p!ssed off with me.

And I didn't want to upset them. I wanted them to like me.

Worrying about being liked as a leader is always pointless - because you simply can't please everyone all the time.

And nor should you.

When I remember some of my earlier days working in TV drama, my toes curl!

When I was a 30 year-old producer, I had to ask an experienced, mature director to reshoot an expensive night scene.

He was NOT happy.

And boy, did he let me know.

I didn't know what my core values were then - I'd never given it a second's thought - but in hindsight I was driven by them both in my decision to reshoot and the gentle way I asked the director to reshoot.

Honesty, Purpose, Connection. They were all there. And you might ask, so what?

What difference would it have made if I'd known?

Well, it would have given me CLARITY.

I would have understood why I felt so worried about confronting him, but also why it was so important to me that we got this scene right. Not from the perspective of ego, but from a deep understanding of the core values that drive me and that I have no choice over.

I would have been able to make sense of the story unfolding, which would then have given me the CERTAINTY and CONFIDENCE to act without the stress and emotional drama.

It was only when I spent time understanding the world of core values and how they showed up for me in everything, that I finally made peace with this simple truth:

If we stay aligned with our core values in our decisions and actions, then we are always liked.
By ourselves.

That might sound like a bit of a trite mantra to throw out, but when you do the core values work properly it means you can be aligned with them in everything you do. Everyday. With everyone.

Do you want more of that CLARITY, CERTAINTY and CONFIDENCE?

Do you want to feel empowered to act again?

Can one day really change your life?

Yes - if you ask the right questions.

In my V.I.P. Immersive coaching day, I take one client through the Values Fingerprint® process from start to finish.

They often start the day feeling unsure of themselves, overwhelmed by decision-making, or emotionally flatlined.

They leave knowing exactly who they are, built on their unique 5 core values.

Which means they also know what matters most, and what to do next in life, in work, and in relationships.

It's like having a personal instruction manual.

That same deep transformation is at the heart of my 6-week online group program:

Empowerful You.

What’s different?

You get time to reflect, reset, and gently integrate the insights into your real life through discussion in an intimate group and with my support all the way through.

It’s built for smart, self-aware women who are:

> Tired of second-guessing themselves
> Ready to stop people-pleasing and start leading again
> Stuck in a work role or life stage that just doesn’t fit anymore
> Searching for clarity in career, relationships, or their next chapter

This isn’t therapy. It’s not a mindset course.

It’s practical, story-based, and deeply personal.

And the outcome is CERTAINTY. Which is kind of priceless ;)

Once you’ve got your Values Fingerprint®, you’ll never feel lost in decision-making again.

- Starts May 13th
- 6 weeks online
- Only 8 places
- Includes a 1-1 story session with me
- £897in full or 3 x £299

Thought for the long weekend...

If you’re tired of Googling your symptoms, doubting your decisions, and saying yes when you mean no - you need to understand your Values Fingerprint®.

What's that?

"What's a Values Fingerprint®?" you say?

Well, funny you should ask...

The Values Fingerprint® is:

1. Uniquely yours – no two are the same.
2. Once and done – discover it once, use it forever.
3. Your strategy for life and work – guiding every decision.
4. Simple and clear – no fluff, just answers.
5. Built to last – grows with you.

It simplifies everything. You’ll stop wasting energy trying to be all things to all people, and start showing up as the leader of your own life.

Ever had one of those days where even choosing what to eat for dinner feels like a major decision?

> You re-read the email 3 times before sending it.

> You say “yes” to something… and then immediately regret it.

> You know something feels off - but you can’t put your finger on why.

So you just head to the fridge and grab a glass of Oyster Bay while you try and forget about it. (Or is that just me?!)

This is more common than you think. And I often find with clients, there’s one quiet, powerful reason behind it all:

You’ve lost touch with your core values.

Not your company’s values.
Not your “shoulds.”
Your real, individual, hardwired, deep-down values.

But unless you know what your core values are - and how they work - life can sometimes feel like an emotional rollercoaster.

It sounds too obvious, but you have to understand what they are first – and there are lots of misconceptions.

I’ve been talking about it this week - even made a fancy carousel for you!

If you’ve been feeling out of alignment or unsure why certain things just overwhelm your brain - this is the place to start.

Maybe it will stop even the smallest decisions feeling so hard.

And if you want to go deeper after that? I’m putting together a short video + workbook that explains – more details coming soon.

So do you know your core values? How do they show up for you? Tell me in the comments - I’d love to know!

Values aren’t just ideas - they’re practical tools.

My experience of a toxic workplace led me to retrain as a coach and develop my Values in Practice® system - a structured process that helps leaders and teams uncover, define, and embed their values in everyday decision-making.

Here’s how my approach is different:

It’s story-based (thanks to my 25 years developing screenplays). Core values aren’t chosen from a list - they’re discovered through reflection on the best and worst moments in your life.

It’s layered. We explore the difference between core, personal, and social values - and how they interact under pressure.

It’s practical. Once you know your values, we embed them into your leadership style through regular reflection, emotional check-ins, and values-based planning.

It’s compassionate and honest.

Because values work isn’t fluffy - it’s about facing what really matters, even when it’s messy and you're in the middle of it.

And we can do the work in workshops, in my group program and 1-1 - whatever suits you.

If you're interested in what your values can do for you, why not sign up to my newsletter?
