Mine was a little different, not just because in Peru but also the audience! Something a little different from my core work, but a reminder of why I do what I do and left a successful career behind.

I thought I’d facilitated in some wild places.

The Andes wouldn’t have entered my head before I went out on my own.

Altitude slows you down on day one, there’s no negotiating with it.

And in that stillness I found myself thinking about how diverse this work gets when it’s rooted in human development.

Corporate. PE-backed. Family business. Community workshop. Retreat in the Sacred Valley.

The context changes. The core doesn’t.

3.5 miles walked. In a conference room.

That’s what happens when you believe strategy sessions need energy, not just agendas.

We went deep today with . The kind of session where people get uncomfortable, assumptions get tested, and the real picture starts to emerge.

One of the team put it perfectly: “It’s like a blurry image on the internet. With each push, it gets clearer.”

Not comfortable. Not beige. But by the end of the day, a sharper strategy, a credible plan, and clarity on the decisions that need to be made, who owns them, and when.

No egos in the room. Just a leadership team leaning into the hard questions because they care about getting it right.

If you want a smooth workshop where everyone leaves feeling validated, I’m probably not your person.

Last week we spent a full day with a leadership team asking exactly that.

They came in chasing every opportunity, running two business models at once, watching margin disappear and not quite knowing why.

They left with a clear direction. Real choices. Named owners.

The hardest part of the day wasn’t the ideas. It was the permission to let some things go.

Choose your hard. 🖤

Working for yourself is a whole different mental game.

But the highlights? The variety, the growth, the learnings?

Beyond what you can imagine.

One day I’m coaching an executive. The next, building strategy with a growth company. The next, unsticking a big organisation that’s lost momentum between strategy and delivery.
