An incredible few days spent walking part of the Cornish coast with my sisters. So much chat, laughter, and shared memories of holidays there as kids. It was an occasion you always dream you will organise one day… and we did it - all in aid of my sister’s birthday… Happy birthday darling .liddell … thank you for all you did to make this happen. ###

The never ending game of snakes and ladders… the hugs and lows, the peaks and troughs…
I was asked by a client a few weeks ago to support one of their staff to learn how to ‘flatten out’ their highs and lows as they can see that they take so much out of them. It not only exhausts the person but also their team around them trying to absorb this energy.
We have started work on this - brainstorming some key activities they can do when in the trough to bring them back out again. It’s already working… they report that they don’t get stuck in the sides for so long now… 👍👍

Getting to the 'nitty gritty' is imperative- that is a vital part of my job as if we both can't see what you are dealing with clearly then how will we know how to start tackling it?

Photo taken from the offices of where I was today to see clients. Being in London felt fantastic - I love the energy and the connection and feels a wonderful 'ying' to my 'yang' of working from home a lot..So- I have news! I have recently been awarded the EMCC Global Individual Accreditation at Senior Practitioner level! I applied for this last year as I wanted to have international confirmation of the standard of coaching I deliver to my clients.
I have been a coach since 2009 and I have never once been asked by a client what my qualifications were. I am guess because I have grown my coaching business mainly through word of mouth new clients would feel reassured of my ability, so didn't need this further validation of proficiency.
However, since I now work with mainly c-suite individuals (CEO's, Managing Director's, Team Leaders, Senior Management) I wanted to have this extra layer of 'reassurance' for clients.
The EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) requires you to go through a process to prove your ‘standard’ of coaching; dependant on how long you have been coaching, how many clients you have seen during that time, what level they are at in their job, the methods I use, the results I get, the testimonials I receive and the professional development I continually go through.
A board of international senior coaches go through this evidence and decide if you have met the threshold for that level of proficiency. The only level higher then the once I am on is a ‘Master’ practioner and to get that I would have to write a book…of which I have no plans to do right now!
So please forgive the unashamed broadcast of my achievement but running your own business allows no space for hiding the proficiency and effectiveness!
If you would like my help (now you know I am 'the real deal') -do let me know!

Instead of always sitting down to write the 'to-do' list and feeling constantly frustrated that you never have enough time 'to -do'...spend time working out what is sapping your time and deal with THAT instead.Yesterday I have a long session with a gorgeous client of mine who is a serious player in Manhattan financial district and also has three children. Her number one priority for her work with me is to be able to be 'present' with her kids and get to spend more time with them. However, she feels she never gets this opportunity. We went through her typical day and forensically picked it apart and we realised that the reason she has no time for her children is because she is giving it to her team instead. She has put in no boundaries around the time she gives them- they can knock on her office door, request a meeting, call her or ask for her advice any time, any day of the week. Why? Because she felt as a working mother she had to constantly 'make up' for the fact that she has a hard stop at 5.30pm to get them from school and she sometimes can't be in early for breakfast meetings. We have got on top of this by creating her a discipline diary to help her put boundaries and frames around the different requirements of her life / her role / her needs. She left the session elated that she feels she finally has an inside chance to starting to meet her number one goal- to spend proper time with her kids uninterrupted.
I hope by me telling you this it might resonate so you can spend some time thinking about what is the route of what you are struggling with and deal with that rather then the outcome.

Even when you think things look rubbish, there are no signs of life or positivity and you cannot imagine life ever being any different- have faith!Swipe to see my dahlias now (currently buried under mounds of earth to stop them getting killed by the winter frosts) - compared to last summer when they were in full bloom early one morning.

I have been a little absent recently on here...there has been no headspace to write anything inspiring as I am pouring all my energy into working and looking after my daughter who is autistic/ADHD. She is not happy and is subsequently refusing school a lot and so my days are spent having to flex and bend to try to manage her around my work and it doesn't leave much room for anything else.

Even though working and having children at home is not an ideal situation, I am SO grateful that I am still able to work and see my clients- they bring me so much joy, passion, stimulation and allow me to be 'me' . My work as a coach helps me to keep positive, to have faith that things will change and to believe in myself that I can make this happen.
I hope this image helps to remind you of this if you are needing it right now x

Taken from a quote by the manager of a team I worked with at Investc Bank. When I trained to be a coach I didn't set out to use my skills in business- I thought I would work with private individuals dealing with their own lives. However, it was through this work that I got recommended further and this took me into businesses. With my first few business clients I felt like a fish out of water- so convinced was I that this was not my happy place- I am SO not corporate. I didn't know their jargons, I didn't had masses of experience working in big companies so what was I doing there.? The imposter syndrome was real. However- the situation taught me the best lesson of all- it doesn't matter who you are, what you do or where you re- we are all people, who all experience emotions, reactions and responses. My expertise is how to manage these and support you to be your best- regardless of whether you are a CEO of a business or a sole entrepreneur. So I told my inner critic to pipe down, wind its neck in and I have cracked on to do my job for the last 12 years and I LOVE it!
