🏡 Insulated Lime Render Project - Sheffield Road, Sutton Coldfield 🏡

This Victorian solid wall property in Sutton Coldfield required a solution that would improve thermal performance while remaining fully breathable and in keeping with the character of the building.

After careful consultation, we installed insulated lime render to the front and rear elevations to ensure the finished render line matched the neighbouring property without creating any unsightly steps.

On the gable elevation, we'll be using a wood fibre and lime system to achieve an improved U-value, taking advantage of the larger roof overhang while maintaining a consistent finish throughout.

The final result will be a fully breathable insulation system designed to improve comfort, reduce heat loss and protect the long-term health of the building.

The property will be finished in potassium silicate paint, providing a durable and breathable finish for many years to come.

🌿 Timber Frame Restoration Project - Colwall, Near Malvern 🌿

This timber-framed property had an old cement render system that was failing and clinging to rusty metal mesh installed around 10 years ago.

Our team carefully removed the unsuitable cement render, insulated the void with loose wood fibre insulation, and formed new timber studs to support a new woodwool carrier board.

Today, we applied the first scratch coat using traditional lime putty with hair reinforcement, creating a breathable base ready for the next layer of lime render.

Using the correct breathable materials is essential for protecting traditional and historic buildings, helping to manage moisture, improve thermal performance and preserve the character of the property for years to come.
